Logged onto Gutshot today (I think this is Cake network). And they have a kamikaze tournament starting in a couple of mins. Everyone, all-in every hand, you just sit back and watch.

It is a $3 buy-in. Have you ever heard of anything so absurd??

....Anywayz, I'm in. Let you know how I go

That's hilarious. At least I wouldn't be out-played by anyone.

This has to be the most -EV "game" I've ever heard of.

I played one of these on Titan, but it was for points and first 3 got paid, it is practically impossibe. It was a rebuy and i must have rebought about 50 times and won about 5 hands. Completely pointless, but fun if your bored :)

Sounds like total degenerate gambling to me.

Disagree with Shrog about it being -EV though. If nobody has any control over the action then in the long run (likely a very long run, in this case) the cards will break even and it should be a 0EV game.

minus the rake which makes it -EV

Wow, and I didn't think I'd find anything worse than those hyper-turbos I saw. Blinds go up every 3 minutes. Level 1 starts 25/50. You start with 500 chips. Blind structure is fugly at best (25/50, 50/100, 100/200, 200/400, etc). LOL

On another forum I belong to we have them sometimes on stars. Either $5 or $10 buyins. We do NLHM or PLO. Every hand 1 person shoves and only one person calls. We call them flipaments

A long gone former member from here tried to run something similar for fun. The idea was you that on your turn you decided if you wanted to play your hand or not. And the only moves you were allowed to make were to fold or shove. Anyone could play any way/hand they wanted, but had to shove or fold only. Sadly even for the simple rules some folks screwed it up. :)

Kamikaze poker is for people who don't like money very much and want to be entertained without exerting any brain power. Not for me.

Seems that way.

Thinking about it... what are they charging in rake for these tournaments, 10%?

That's a bigger house edge than roulette, blackjack and all but the worst bets on a craps table. Meaning you'd be better off just taking all the money you planned to use buying into these tournaments, taking it to a casino and sticking it all on black. You've only gotta fade a 5% house edge then - less if it's a single zero wheel :p

ya i played the kamikazes before. They range from 12 man tournaments from 1,2,3 dollar buy ins. or 25 man tourny for 1,2,3 bucks. Then they have one that is once a day for 3 bucks that have like
345 people in it. It is a crazy concept and weird ass tourny but if you win you are in the clear for a while

You can say that about pretty much any bet though - the simple fact is that if you are inclined towards a pure gamble where you've got no control over the outcome, there are games where you don't give up anywhere near as much edge to the house.

Seriously, some of you need to lighten up. I have money built up on this site that started with a free-roll cash. I haven't ever deposited here and I'm not even seeing it as real money, it's like virtual e-cash. I'm on tilt at the end of a long session and haven't got time or will to enter another game, and I don't care about spunking off $3. so what?

Maybe next time I'll take your advice and take my virtual $3 to the casino to pay less rake. Lolz.
