This was an interesting format.
Oklahoma state championships start Feb. 1, Cherokee Casino in Tulsa, Ok.
The first night is the Jack and Jill tourny.

Couple, $120 entry for the couple.
1 starts, at the first blinds raise, starting player gets up, the other half of the couple sits down and plays "their" chip stack, and alternates at each blind raise.

My wife and I thought that sounds like fun. Not sure yet if we will be able to swing going down there yet, it's on a Thursday night, but it sounded like a blast. Also sounded like a potential for domestic violence if your wife didn't agree with your tactics. :D

Yeah, that could be fun, but it also could end up bad, like if you were to get up a bit and then your wife blew all your chips.

I'd never play one of these with my hubby...for a number of reasons, including the fact that he'd be the one who would lose all our chips!

Several of us who play at a casino here in the OKC Metro area are going up to play in this. And most of us are not partnering with our spouses! :)

Welcome RoseAnn to another fellow Oklahoman!!! You found a great forum to join!

I haven't read my Cherokee book they sent out a week or so ago, so I had no idea they were having this tournament. Too late of notice for us to play. Infact I have to agree with some of the ladies on here. I wouldn't play this with my hubby ;) As much as I love him he has lost way too much of my online winnings and he is only at about 40% for his live play as well

Good luck to those who play this, and give us an update how you fair please!

Thanks for the welcome, Tina! I found this place when I was looking for information on the tourney, and I'm glad I did :)

My hubby doesn't even go to the casino with me any more. I would stake him out of my winnings to play either limit hold'em or blackjack, and he'd be broke long before I was ready to leave

This will be my first trip to Cherokee. I've heard lots about it, but have never had the chance to go. My partner is a good friend, and we play a similiar game, so I think we'll do pretty well. But even if we don't get very far, we'll have a good time--we always do :)

I'll let you know how we do. Our hope is that someone from our group wins the tourney, but we know the competition will be tough.

A few of the ladies from our casino are going back to play in the women's tourney on Sunday, but the $300 entry fee is a bit high for my liking. However, I might change my mind if I make the money Thursday night :D

Best,

RA
