Is there any way to find out when good players are playing online, to be able to watch? It doesent have to be Pros, but I want to observe how good players play, Sng, cash, Mtt. I would be interested in all. I have found hands and segments and stuff on youtube among other places, but I would like to be able to watch, for example, an entire Sng with a good player, maybe a few different games from start to finish, I think yall know what I mean, observing dynamics, interaction with different style villains and so on. Im not looking for "Best of". I want the folded hands and everything.

On FT, tables and tournaments where "red pros" are participating are highlighted in red, and the pro's name appears in red...

To add on to Slydogs comment, on stars u can go to requests then click "Find a team pokerstars pro", or u can look on the cash tables and if u see a small pokerstars logo next to the table that means a pokerstars pro is sitting there.

Hope this helps

Love that feature on PS, I've looked for a similar one on FT but I can't find one. The chat is interesting too when they have a mind to talk/answer questions.

Because someone's too busy dwelling on past mistakes by companies to use the "Find A Player" feature on FT.

Pros play on FTP daily at all stakes. It's also probably the best site as far as nosebleeds. Durrrr's playing Cole South heads up at the moment.

You could also use the buddy list on PokerTableRatings.com, just search for the pros you want and pop open your buddy list and it will say when they are online.

Or, if you're on UB, you can use their UltimateBuddy buddylist program to wait for pros to come on.

Also, Isildur1 is playing Justin Bonomo on FT right now. Neither are FT Pros, but are def. good players.

The problem at FT is that many of the pros dont talk in chat boxes because Idiot observers are on the chat box begging for $5.

I'm too busy dwelling on past mistakes by companies?
I don't know what that means. I have trouble with the new FT layout but I don't recall ever complaining about it. I tried finding Durr heads up with Antonius some months ago and was unable to find that feature but perhaps it was because I was trying to find the table and not the player.

Are you referring to the 'TV pros' or are you referring to good online players who are the regs. on the sites?
Best way to do what you're asking about is to view some PokerTrainingVids. where the coach/pro reveals their thought process throughout (usually for SNG's they'll do this with 4 tables on the go, MTT's ~2, Cash 4-6tables).

Something I like to do is, >> after having watched a bunch of vids. of a particular player, I'll then watch them playing online (live), with an idea of how they play (& reviewing any hands that went to showdown). I do this for both SNG & MTT (& have ~ a dozen+ players I'll watch from time to time, at all levels of game play(re:MTT, at all blind levels)). I find this to be quite helpful.

btw,... I'm playing right now on Carbon Poker (sn is same)

I'd love to. Any tips where to start, which vids are worth the cost/time? Any freebies worth checking out IYO?
thanx And I want to watch any good player, doesent need to be famous or TV celeb, just good solid playing.

And you mentioned on another thread you had some good articles on MTT bubble playing. If you recall, I would love them too. BTW, I finished Phil Gordons Little Green Book, got it on your suggestion, GREAT. TY for that tip. As soon as I finish SnG Strategy by Collin Moshman, I am hard pressed whether to re-read Green Book, or start my Harrington series. I now have a small Library, I went wild and ordered a lot, hard to know where to begin. I dont multi table so I wont multi book either. BTW, I read your post too late, had to get some sleep - I am in Europe so hours agaed of you (U R stateside?), maybe let me know when you are are playing again. I am not on Carbon, do you play PS or FT?

Can you really learn that much?

You can, but, most of the time you won't see the cards they fold, or hold when they raise or reraise (unless of course they are called. It just seems like you're missing a large and important part of their game.

What would really be interesting and super educational would be to shadow a pro or very good player for a tournament or significant number of hands to get an idea of how they really play.

Something to maybe keep in mind...when watching some of the best MTT players online, sure you can gain knowledge from watching their play, BUT keep in mind that this won't always directly transfer over to micro &/or low limits (ie. if Doc Sands 4bets allin w 98s over gboro's 3bet in Pos,... could be that DS is figuring gboro for restealing light, etc. etc..... in other words.. some of the play might almost appear donkey-like but know there's much more going on & they've usually got alot of history with one another).

Check out the sessions in the FT poker academy. You will see their hands and they explain their thoughts as they play.

There are similar videos around the net, at Stox and Cardrunners for example, but not all are free.
