I occasionally play in the Stars freerolls, you know the ones where you win tickets to a Round 2 game? Last night was a NL Omaha Hi tourney and even after getting to the ticket level again, I was bored so I kept on playing.

And on, and on, and on....

Now I suppose one of these weekends I should use some tickets? I have 7 of them now.

8 and a half hours for a 1 in a 100 chance of winning entry into another freeroll. OMG!

I won a ticket last week.

Took 7 hours to get to the final table.

By the time I knew I was guaranteed a ticket I was that bored I just went all in with 74 off suit.. Guess what.. I hit the full house lol sending the whole table into a froth of temper.

I played in the tournie on Saturday and actually did quite well finishing in the top 30 and winning a little bit for my bankroll. The numbers fell at an alarming rate and three or four winning hands give you a good shot of the money.

The tournament itself is great but god the entry satellite is tedious.

Actually it "only" took 4.5 hours to get to the ticket level.

The rest of the time was beating the other 98 people left.

I was playing Civilization at the same time so I never watched the game until the little box lit up saying I needed to act.

I'm thinking this weekend I'll try out Round 2 if there's a NL HE one.

I think, regardless of what people say, it was an excellent job done.

Regardless of the prize, to win v 10000 people is awsome!!!

Why on earth do they not stop the game once everyone has won their ticket? Are you really saying that 99 people that had already won the ticket played for another FOUR hours for no reason?

How many players were actually playing after you all earned your tickets?

Just so you're aware, you've basically used up your lifetime's supply of luck on a freeroll for which you won a ticket into another freeroll.

(I mean good luck in R2). :)

Hmmmmm, bored Dr's playing razz!

Self-lobotomy anyone? LOL

FWIW Ted, I won the last Friday Night Variety Razz game. At least I got cold hard cash and a much smaller field from my self-lobotomy!;)

I haven't had a good CC showing since.....

Thats the way my mind works Chris.

I played a stupid $1 buyin - about 600+ in it. I caught AA 4 times in the tourny. I went out in 24 place winning $6 after 3 hours - it was a turbo game. I was put out with this hand check it out, WOW!!! https://www.cardschat.com/forum/gen...t-game-wow-nlhe-mtt-24-left-out-684-a-110228/

I was thinking the same "Delt AA four time in 3 hours - long wait til the next one"

I think there were around 50 people still playing, the rest were blinding out. I suppose the reason people continue to play is to get leaderboard points. I'm not sure what good they are but the farther you go, the more points you gain.

The only tournaments I play in on Stars are the CC ones and the $2.20 Quintuple shootouts so I tend to doubt it's going to make any difference to me that I got points.

I think that was just a day's luck involved. I played in 4 SnG and 3 other tournaments the same day and never made it anywhere. So "luck" owed me I guess.

Let's hope that next time the luck hits the money tournaments first and the freerolls last.

Great finish. I used to do play money games all the time for fun, so I can't really argue with someone spending hours in a freeroll. At least you have the possibility of getting something material from your efforts.

I'll still hit freerolls on occasion, if I need a distraction but can't dedicate myself to a "real" game.
