If you're good enough for sponsorship, how come OPR doesn't have *any* games for you on Full Tilt, pokerstars, or party poker? I don't see any major wins for your accounts anywhere.

But to answer your question, when you win a good number of high profile events the sites will ask you for sponsorship. That's a difficult feat to accomplish. I know Annette_15 had trouble getting sponsorship before she won the WSOPE Main Event a couple years back, and she had a $300k+ month, plus several other $100K+ months. (PokerStars turned her down, but some third-party site sponsored her)

Companies sponsor people to advertise their services and attract more business no matter what sport you're into. If the public doesn't recognise your name from the media chances of getting a sponsorship are slim to none.

I've been sponsored by a several archery companies and several fishing gear companies in years past. I'll tell ya now it wasn't easy to get sponsoships till I made the grade. Even then it wasn't a major amount of money by any standards, usualy just gear and such.

Steve is 100% correct. Tom McEvoy tried and tried to get poker stars to put Kathy Liebert on their site as one of their pros. Despite her great showings this summer, they only consented to sponsor her in the ME if she wore their clothes. She was quite upset by the insult and I think, she didn't go for the $10,000. She is number 23 in the Player of the Year Rankings and couldn't get a full contract. Now, you tell me; can you do better than she did?
