So I built up a $500 bankroll from scratch over a period of 6 months playing on and off. Now that summer is coming, I've decided to get serious and start grinding 25nl. 10 minutes into 25nl I drop an entire buy in with QQ vs AA, but it didn't hurt me emotionally as much as I expected. I plan to take a few weeks to really do some research, but I don't really know what games I can play and be profitable. Some options I'm considering are 4-tabling 10nl, keeping trying 25nl, or sng/mtt using the 5%/2% BRM rules. Oh and I play on FT. My ultimate goal is to reach the 1k mark by the end of the summer. Help much appreciated, thanks.

At $500, you have 20 buy-ins for the $25NL tables. If (and this is a big if) you play conservative, tight, agressive ABC poker, 20 buy-ins is the bare minimum you should have.
I would stick to $10NL until you have 30-40 buyins, which would put you at your goal of $1000.
Secondly, anytime you move up in stakes there is an adjustment period. You need to feel comfortable at the new level and this just takes time.
Variance is a b**** and if you are not properly rolled for it, it will take you out.

Ya I definitely considered going back and playing 10nl, but beating 25nl has been a goal for awhile as I've been reading a lot of strategy on it and watching videos. I guess the only problem here is bankroll because dropping just a few more buy ins would not be too good.

BTW, what is a sustainable winrate at 10nl. Also, are than any free HUDs with the basic stats?
