I'm sure this question gets asked a lot around here, but are these sites legitimate? The one I'm looking at is FreePokerCashBankroll, and I want to try it out but I dont want to waste my time or risk a infection or endless advertising to my computer.

Anybody know about this?

Most well known sites that offer free bankrolls are coshure and involve very little risk at all. Go for it.

I got a $50 free bankroll started from one of the better-known sites. The funds arrived very quickly (within 24 hours) and I was off to the races. It's nice being properly rolled for 2nl finally after trying to scrape by off freeroll winnings.

A couple things to note:

1) When getting a "free" bankroll, try to get one at a poker room that does not offer rakeback (such as pokerstars). Most places will offer you EITHER rakeback OR a starting bankroll... once you get a nice roll going and you find yourself a consistent winner you will definitely want to be taking advantage of any rakeback promotions you can get so if a site DOES NOT offer rakeback to anyone than it's best to use the insta-bankroll promotion there.

2) The insta-bankroll isn't exactly "free" -- what I mean is that you will need to clear a certain amount of rake to be able to keep the money in your account (assuming you don't lose it all). As an example, the site I signed up with gave me a $50 starting deposit at Pokerstars and they require I accrue at least 500 FPP within 90 days of receiving the funds. I have been grinding/multitabling (up to 4 tables) micro cash games with the funds and have nearly doubled it in about 2 weeks time @ about 1-3 hrs per day, and my FPP stand at about 250. I'd say I will clear the deposit by the end of the year for sure, but it does take a fairly consistent amount of play to do it.

Yeah, most offers are ok, but you can´t cashout this money and have to play with it forever :icon_scra but it´s better than no starting money, right ?

I've used one in the past and thought it was a scam but proved wrong. I think they make it back with rake but once I played the required hands I withdrew and deposited in another site where I got the rake.
Go for it.

* If I remember right, I had to play just 400 raked hands at party poker. I opened 4 penny fixed tables, mucked almost everything cleared it in a few hours & withdrew with a big thank you very much. : )

I posted this a few days ago in a different thread. I accepted $50 from a different staking site, and still have a bankroll there a couple years later without having deposited. Hope this helps!

Once you clear the rake/hand requirements, you can do whatever you want with the money. If any site has fine print saying otherwise, avoid them.

Watch out for some of the requirements on some of the off sities. Aslo they may require you to play so many raked hands. Just read the requirements first and go for it.

If youve already made an account with the poker room, is this offer invalid?

Almost in every case, yes the startup cash is unavailable if you already have an account with the poker room. The sites offering the startup cash is usually only doing so because they become your sponsor when you sign up to the poker room, and they then get a share of the rake you create from then on or some other form of payment.

Saying this, if you don't already have a sponsor when you sign up the poker room, it may be worth inquiring if the site can become your sponsor and then perhaps give you the startup cash. It might be worth a shot, kind of what like rakebackpros does.

So the general opinion is that staking is a positive thing? I have recently been offered a $500 staking opportunity which I had to apply for by sending stats and graphs etc..

Losses are covered by them and the profit split is 50:50 and the staking would finish once my bankroll reaches $2,500, meaning they take back the $500 initial stake and we split the $2,000 profit equally.

Would you go for this? Would like to hear from anyone who has been staked before!

Okay, thanks a lot for the advice!

I was looking to do this on full tilt poker, I dont know if any of you have experience with an offer on FTP. I have had friends send me money before but never deposited myself. Do you think I am invalid for the offer or not because I have never deposited on my account?

Lenny -- this is a little different from staking like you are talking about. The sites do not take anything directly from your bankroll, they just get rakeback earnings and affiliate bonuses from the poker rooms for "introducing" you to the site. I have no experience with actual staking, but I'd just be sure you are familiar with all the terms of the agreement before getting into anything.

Okay, thanks a lot for the advice!

If you already have a Full Tilt account you probably won't be able to get the $50 starting cash promotion, since the sites want you to register with them as your sponsor (so they can earn a commission on your rake).

Additionally, I stated this earlier but if you are doing this I would recommend NOT doing it at Full Tilt Poker, because you can get a rakeback bonus on FTP and most sites offer EITHER the rakeback bonus OR the $50 starting cash. If you continue playing at the site, the rakeback bonus if the far superior deal.

If you don't have a PokerStars account already, I recommend signing up for the $50 there because they have no rakeback system other than the VIP system which everyone gets anyways.

I can only speak for the one I used, but it seems to be good, and legit.
I received my funds within 24 hours (at Party Poker). They also have freerolls from time to time that only people who accepted the deal can play in. $1,000.00 with only a few hundred participants which is an added bonus.

You have to pass a test to get the money, but with some note taking and studying, you can easily do it. The site is called poker strategy.

Good luck.
