Wanted to know what some of the more respected members on this forum thought of him. A lot of people regard him as a calling station, etc and wanted to know what you guys thought about his game.

Well, I'm not a heavyweight on this forum by any means, but here are my 2cents on eli. He's certainly not known for his laydowns, sort of a unrefined version of antonius if u know what I mean.
But when he runs good, he has the tendency to instil fear in the players at his table, even fellow pros, as he completely takes over as table captain. His tilt factor is way too high as well, which explains his lack of tournament success ever since e poker boom. But as an old guard along with being doyle's and barry's good friend, he certainly doesn't lack respect in the pro circuit.

He's primarily a limit player, so that is why he calls more bets than he should.

He's not a station. He's what I'd call a fearless gambler. He makes a lot of money outside of poker and although he obviously likes to win he doesnt just toss out money for free.

He may appear a station in tv cash games, but likely he is in position with at least a piece of a flop and/or history with villain in the hand and thoughts about how to win the hand with or without cards.

The guy is definitely not a losing player, even at those nosebleed stakes.

He's one of the few older players who has the guts and game to play in the nosebleed stakes with the young guns. He is surely one of the elite players in the world. Used to be an Israeli Commando, so he's willing to fight it out!

Yeah i always thought a lot of people gave him shit for some of his plays but I don't think they took into consideration his history with villain, etc.

I know this... He makes High Stakes Poker alot more entertaining than when he's not on there.

I agree
He's my favorite poker player, developed from watching him on the high stakes cash games. I can't really identify his style, just like his demeanor at the table.

I watched him in High Stakes Poker. In the early seasons he played a bit tight and the other players exploited it and bluffed him. But in the last season of HSP he decided to play looser and he made a lot of money because some players' trick became useless against him.
I like him, he's a funny guy.

I really like him as a player. I mean I think he does take some risks but more often than not they do pay off.

I like him. He's one of those guys that will keep a guy like Durr in check. He does make some good reads and is never afraid to call or raise. He has had an interesting life too. He was one of Israel's equivalent of our Navy Seals.

I thought he was good until I saw him call Doyle's KK shove with 99. That was awful play. I haven't seen that much of him though so I can't say entirely.

He seems like a nice guy though and a fun person to have at the table.
