I just want to ask if anything can be done about people who swear, make prejudice remarks and who are just down right nasty and rude? I just get so sick of the constant banter during play at the tables. i dont want to shut off my chat boxes because i like to see hand results. if you report to the poker room do they do anything? In casinos you just call floor and they put a stop to the nonsense....

If its at pokerstars just report to the moderator they come in review the chat and post to keep chat friendly and clean, if it happens again they will put a ban on their chat for like 2 hours or longer depending on what they said.

there was an article somewhere on here saying that cussing or openly venting is good right after you take a beat. Just don't take it personally and keep playing

You can turn off player chat and still watch your chatbox for results, announcements. Its under options...at the larger sites anyway.

Turning off the player chat will do wonders for your game. I never turn mine on outside of CC games. I call it peaceful poker and I tilt 85% less now.

Depending on what site you play on you can mail them. Look for email on site (usually support@ ... )

On full tilt you can remove the chat (players, spectators or both), but keep the results.

To report chat to the poker stars Moderators all you need to do is click on the dealers chip tray and then click the call moderator button, then a second box will open where you can put a brief description of what the problem is.
See Below.

At Full Tilt you can use the chat filter to set what you want to see in the chat box, just go to options at the top right corner of the table then select the chat tab, the rest is self explanatory

I cut my chat off to stop this, but i miss out on friendly chat when I am playing in a league game with members of a forum. I wish people would not act in this manner, so I enjoy chatting when I am playing.

You'll hear that language all your life. Just get over it. Report it if you're that offended but you gotta grow some thicker skin in this world.

I agree totally with you. I send them a smile and PPP. Peaceful Poker Please. It is really depressing to see how some people behave when inter acting with others.

If it makes you upset, why not just turn chat off?

You can see hand results in the hand replay.

Personally I'd just try to get over it - some players give away a lot of information about the way they're playing with the comments they type into a chat box. For example, if someone's swearing and calling people names you know they're probably not the most level-headed calm player and you can factor that into your decision making at later stages.

I'll mute individual players if necessary but I don't think I could ever turn chat off completely. Maybe it's because I learned to play live but I just can't imagine turning off a source of information. In my mind it'd be like playing live but never actually looking at the other players at the table or something.

I would just let them go at it. If you don't respond it's just going to make them more mad and it gives you an idea of where they are mentally. Usually, if the person is losing it and saying stupid things, that's a pretty good indication that they're on tilt. Use it to your advantage

You can turn off player chat.

Ignoring others chat is kind a like dealing with a bad beat.

Take it all in stride.
Don't take it personal.
Keep your head clear and in the game.
