Just wondering if anything had been confirmed about Casey Reese (Chip Reese's son).

The link you provided doesn't seem to work.

The son of the late Chip Reese, Casey Reese, has passed away from an overdose of prescription drugs, according to comments by Daniel Negreanu and Doyle Brunson on Full Contact Poker and Doyle’s Room. He was 20 years old.
On Tuesday, the following text appeared in Brunson’s official blog on his online poker site, Doyle’s Room: “It happened again yesterday, only this time it was Chip’s only son, Casey Reese. Casey was found in his apartment from an apparent overdose of prescription drugs. I had seen Casey a few days ago and he looked great. He was very handsome and extremely personable. I will always remember the closeness between Chip and Casey.” Brunson heard the news from his nephew and felt that he “let Chip down, but I don’t know what I could have done to help Casey.”

:( I'll just always remember the footage of him with his dad, and Chip saying he wouldn't have gotten into tournaments if it wasn't for his son. So much potential gone, very sad.

Tried to find a good sized pic of him playing baseball but they were tiny. Here he is with Chip - a good memory to save.

This is a very said thing. People instantly think suicide, when I was going to school to be a drug and alcohol counselor I learned that alot of the time, (mainly older people) they take their dose then forget they have taken it and take it again, then from here it's like a snowball, until it's over.
Not saying that's what happened , just saying it does happen. Either way it's a sad thing to hear.

Take care

I for one didn't instantly think suicide. See I knew about his baseball. I'm pretty sure anyone familiar with him at all knew about his promising baseball career. The first thing that entered my mind was injury. Doctors prescribe some pretty strong and addictive painkillers. So my guess is that he took more than intended/needed accidentally.. He injured his wrist really bad at one point so I can only guess painkillers were prescribed.

Again it's just a guess, and without any official report from the coroner's all any of us outside the loop can do is speculate.

So sad to hear young people overdosing much less dying too young. I have a 2 year old son and i get teary eyed when i hear of something like this. At least Chip didn't have to live through it.
