Hey everyone,
Does anyone have suggestions for bankroll management? According to mtts, sngs, razz, limit hold em', and no limit hold em'. I love all these and play all of them. I was just wondering how many bets you guys play with, and what the max buy in you will make according to your bankroll.

Theres about 927047034 article about this on here haha so look in the "Golden Archive" area for this....a shortened version would be have 20 buy ins for whatever limit you want to play, if its micro's....40 buy ins just to be safe

For example, playing 2$ sngs would require a 40$ bankroll and an 80$ bankroll just to be safe

I play with 100buyins in S&G´s and some times not even that way feeling safe:eek: (of course 10-tabling don´t help me much to feel safe;) )

Turbo sng´s reguire a special bankroll management with more buy-ins. I play those 180man´s on pokerstars and i believe, 100 buy-ins aren´t enough there, because of the variance and the higher luck factor...:(

first off you should use the 'search feature' and i'm sure this has been asked >9000 times before.

while im at it, my approach is conservative but I say 50BIs+ for cash games, 200ABIs++ for MTTs.

for sng and cash games 5% of your br is the max to play with. for mtt only 3% of your br. It seems really tight but it has helped me

This man speaks truth!

Chris Ferguson also adds the suggestion of leaving any NL or PL game when the blinds reach you, if more than 10% of your bankroll is on the the table at any given time. I tend to follow that advice, because for me, when to stop has always been an issue. I like to be able to limit my losses.

The above website has a nice calculator for telling you what level of NL cash game you should be playing with your BR. It also has a tool called the Fergulator that basically takes the above rules and spits out how much you can buy in safely for at your BR level and when to leave. That tool works for Cash/SnG/MTT calculations, and is really simple.

Anyway, there's a lot of smart people out there that can teach you about bankroll management. But just remember the golden rule: if you're playing a limit outside of your bankroll, you're really putting your entire roll at risk, due to variance. Be smart, and you'll go far no matter how large or small the roll you're working with.

And here's the original article by Chris Ferguson about his bankroll management rules:

Hope you find this all useful. Good luck!

One thing that's not talked about much but that I consider an extremely important element of positive BRM is playing within your emotional comfort zone. Aside from taking an occasional trial shot at higher stakes, if you don't feel comfortable at the table at a particular level, you're probably playing too high no matter if you have 20 buyins or 200.
