Bank roll Management for "duffers"

I looked around the threads for Bank roll management tips and also saw a video from Scott Ferguson about it at the FT Academy (very interesting) and I still am not sure it applies to my, and many other's, situation.

I have consistantly about $0-$15 at FT (never depositied), $20-$30 at UB (my first deposit was $25 I think a couple years ago) and have been playing with $30 -$50 at poker stars thanks to winning a couple LPS and freerolls.

So, the question, do I need to practice bank roll management? I clearly can only play small stakes, but if I decide to put up my last $2.23 at Full Tilt in a small tourney, there is no management strategy that reccomends you spend your entire BR.

The BR I have at PS is the largest, and I wouldn't mind trying to buildi it in to something serious, but the strategies I've seen don't make much sense for small Bankrolls (more like piggy banks).

Don;t get me wrong, I take poker seriously and want to win, but I don't see myself depositing big bucks to be able to move up out of the donk fest tourneys and penny ante crap I play now.

So, to try to put this rambling succinctly, is there a bank roll management strategy for serious duffers?

I've wondered this myself and seen a similar question answered elsewhere and the answer made sense. I too never have a substantial amount of money on any given site. We're considered to be playing on a budget and not a bankroll. I mean I usually play .05/.10, but I would never deposit $1000 into a site which is what it would take according to proper BR management. I deposit fairly low amounts when I have to and just play as long as I can on that deposit. I'm not looking to poker for a profit. I'm just having fun and trying to improve my game. If I followed proper BR management, I wouldn't be rolled to play anything. lol If I deposit $50, then I shouldn't even be playing .01/.02 according to proper BR management.

Would depend on what you mean by 'serious duffer' ...

Also... it can vary with what games you are most comfortable with, or what games you intend to win at. Ring? MTT? STT? Limit? PL? NL? All of these create different answers for all players.

Never figured I would get rich playing online, so my 'plan' is to keep building what I have done so far and continue to enjoy what I play. My serious efforts are for live table play here in Nevada.

I have never deposited on ANY site and have 4 small BR's ... FT, PS, bodog and UB. I try to stick to the parameters of Chris Ferguson's BRM guidleines he used for his $0-10k Challenge on Full Tilt. They do work and it's almost impossible to go broke once you have established a small roll.

It's tough to make a BR policy at the lowest stakes. I don't know about UB. But on stars you denfinately can find low stakes games that will fit your BR. On fulltilt it will be tough to keep from busting, but there is a 30 cent satellite to the daily double. Its a 9 man tourney and top 2 get entry(worth 1T$ if you unregister) and 3rd gets 25 cents. That should give you a shot at some hope atleast. If you could get to over 25 buyins you could start taking shots at the daily dollar itself.

you should only need 20 buyins or even less at these stakes. so 1c/2c would only require $40. And $200 for 5c/10c.
