I know it's a fairly common thing, but im quite mad at myself today. Last night I got 7 hours deep in the daily dollar and was 2nd of 50 left at one point, then like 9th of 30, with 1,000,000 in chips.
In the final hour I made 2-3 bad decisions and I was down to ~400,000 with blinds of 25,000/50,000 and with 19 left I had 85o in the small blind. I'd exploited the big blind over and over in the past and tried it again by shoving on him. This time he had a hand and called with 1010, I was railed in 19th, in hindight I wish I'd just folded cause 18th was worth an extra 15$ but he folds here like 80% of the time. It's the other decisions where I called off bad that bother me not just this shove with 85o.
Deepest I've been in Daily Dollar, had a good shot of final tabling it when I had 1,000,000 chips and I F'ed it up. I guess I don't expect much replies to this it's a long negative thread.

First of all, nice job on the cash, 19th of over 8000 people isn't too shabby. I was hoping for a deep run as well but the cards didnt come and I ended up getting around 550th place. I know how you feel blowing all those chips when you are in a good position late in a tourney. A couple of weeks ago I was making a deep run in the ftpa freeroll. There were three tables left and I was sitting about third in chips. To make a long story short I ended up getting around 19th (don't remember exactly) because of my stupid play. It sucks to blow your chips when you know you could have made a final table and had a big cash. You just have to remember that there will be other opportunities. Remember what you did wrong, and correct those mistakes so they don't happen again. You have to quit beating yourself up though, even though you could have and maybe should have done better you still got 19th place and that is better than over 99% of the field.

DD is bad for two reasons, takes such a long time... and pay out structure makes it so even though you arent putting in alot, the time it takes to finish makes it so the final 2 tables only really pay well.

Well at least you cash out pretty nicely. I mean, obviously you wanted to get a better place, but you can always try again. I like DD, if you manage to get a decent place you'll boost for BR for a pretty nice amount.

What I can tell you is not to give up, keep trying, you'll get there, eventually.

400K with blinds of 25K/50K antes of 6K your M was 3.1

129K pot pre-flop your shove was correct only if your intentions was to make a run for 1st. If your intentions was to just move up the pay scale than folding would be correct.

85o vs. a random hand is about 40% to win so blindly this shove is profitable if villan folds more than 18% which is fair to assume if your read and experiance with player is correct.

The best part once blinds/antes are this large you can almost never make a mistake with shoving 8bb's. You can however make many more folds that are mistakes so aggression in these situations is probably best.

Ive come 45th 32nd, 25th, and 11th in the DD-it really sucks when you get beaten when you go deep. I know how you feel. When I came 11th I was coming 3rd and got my whole stack into the middle vs the chip leader in a sb vs bb battle. He Raised my blind and I three bet with 99 to 1.1 mil. He shoved and I called the rest of my 3.3 million stack-he had A8 and rivered an ace!!! he went on to win $1599 because he had more than double 2nd place in chips and about 5 times bigger than 3rd place at the start of the FT-cant lose with that advantage.

If you keep playing and keep making those good decisions you will take one of these down. Especially now that you know to keep your wits about you when it matters most!
