This is a must-see video for anyone who wants to know why some people are professional.

Look at what he lays down.

YouTube - WSOP ME 2008 sickest laydown

I doubt none of us in this forum would've laid this down. I doubt almost everybody, including pros, wouldn't have laid this down either.

Pros wouldn't have layed it down because it is a silly laydown. Unless he had a read that Geller would only raise a huge hand on that river then he should have at least called. It looks very impressive and it is a ridiculous laydown given that the guy had KK but so many times a Q raises there. I really don't know if I raise but I never fold in a tournament.

They both played it rubbish checking the flop anyway.

his gut prob said don't do it and he knows to listen to it by now. def crazy laydown a q def could of been raising him, but how geller was so quick to check down after pre flop raise and then in position he didnt even take stab at it with bet after flop or turn may have given him the read he had, that geller was slow playing monster/nut. (also even when he raised romenello he was very quick) if he took a little more time and even tried to show weekness a little prob could of got more $. NH for romenello

He had to have had a read, otherwise it would be crazy to lay it down. Good for him! I wish I had psychic powers too! That was amazing.

Pretty much, I can see just calling but folding has got to be -ev. You beat any Q, AT, and a bluff. Even if they were such a tight player that you put them on AA, KK, AQ, or QQ ....
equity win tie pots won pots tied
Hand 0: 63.775% 63.57% 00.21% 222047016 726930.00 { QQ+, AQs, AQo }
Hand 1: 36.225% 36.02% 00.21% 125809140 726930.00 { JJ }

36% equity and getting better than 2 to 1
gotta call.

It would have been even more interesting if romenello would have gone over the top and geller would have folded ... (just kidding.. couldnt see that happening... not sure what their starting stacks were and if he even had enuf chips to do that.)_ But I must give him credit for a great laydown.
