Once I played with friends at my apartment.
We just put everyone somewhere for 10 dollars.
There were five of us.
Playing on the conditional chips three flew out of the game.
They just continued to drink beer and watch me and my opponent.
I remember that I had about 2100 on my hands. My friend has about 3900.
I hit a bad beat and I had about 100 chips left.
My friend was exultant! He thought, he already won.
Then I just put everything out of desperation and what do you think?
I won about 4 times in a row. And my chips increase to 200, 400, 800, 1600)
In the end, I won this game. My friend after that hated me)
I think it's luck! ))):):):):D:D

I have seen this also in a home game several times. Not in such extreme case like the one mentioned by you but have definitely seen in headsup the player with much lower stack to win in the end. Such things happen but to hate someone for 10$ in a home game looks extreme to me. After all home games are mostly for fun. If someone takes it too seriously he should play in casino and not home game in my opinion.

I've been there with SNGs online before (down to ~100, out of 1,500 pretty early in the game, low/micro stakes), and its a crazy feeling. I think what helps is, once you double up a few times and get back in it, other players often are just guessing at whether you're still streaking or bluffing and stop playing their best game. I'd like to think this stops happening at higher stakes, but people are mostly only human.

Grats on the win! I hope those hard feelings fade, especially over $10 between friends. Maybe buy your friend a drink or something?

It's not about the money itself. And in that he lost)

There is a saying "One ah-sh!t will wipe out a thousand atta-boys". People tend to remember their worst memory in these cases and not the other umpteen times they pulled the same thing on you.

It is great that you can still sit down and play together. That's what friends are for. Eventually, that memory will fade away. Next thing you know, many years from now, you will chuckle about it.

Luck is part of the game. You got lucky. Good for you.
Too bad that players have to sit and watch. We do not play tournament games, we play fixed limit and allow re-buys - even in the middle of a hand.

I hope that we deserve good luck!
