Wanna move up the stakes!

Hello people!

I have been playing on Party now for some 7 months and feel I am finally ready to move up from 2NL to 4NL. The most I have deposited is $25 and my BR is approaching 100. I Feel that I am very comfortably stronger than 90% or Players I meet at 2NL though with the increased aggression I will face from players that are not TOTALLY clueless I am expecting it to be a shaky start.

Of course I will limit myself to a comfortable 4 tables, pay close attention to selection and generally try not to do anything to fancy untill I have settled in!

As a beginner I of course aspire to be a TAG and I have an idea of the numbers I should shoot for... 16/12.

As can be seen from my details sheet, I could be a little tighter and more aggressive. I think I know how I can work on this but what I am asking you guys is if you can spot any other points of note amongst to mass of figures?!

Specifically:

Filling the small blind%
Blind stealing%
went to showdown
Won $s at showdown
Aggression frequencies and factors

All in all I feel my game is coming along nicely and I am always surrounding myself with post-it notes of ideas, thoughts, reminders!

One of my favourite being "If you intend to call a probable raise then you are better to bet it all yourself. Then you taking control of the betting and gaining fold equity, giving yourself an extra chance to win!"

Any thoughts on how I can tweak my game before I move up?

I play 9 handed cashed games and the figures are for 90% 2NL and 10% 4NL (taken a couple of shots to test the waters)

Don't make any major adjustments for 4nl, the play will still be terrible.

I'm not great with stats but nothing there looks bad.

You give up your blinds, a lot. Good.
You steal blinds a lot. I like the 25-30% range as a minimum for this stat, any lower and you're missing opportunities but your frequency is fine. It obviously depends on your raise size though.
WTSD, no idea what's standard for FR.
W$SD, pretty much in the middle of any optimal range (45%-60% is usually near optimal, obviously it depends on play style and opponents though).
Aggression Frequency... I'm not very informed on this stat. Nothing looks bad though, from the looks of it you're playing the tight game you planned and usually have a hand when you get to later streets.

If you don't do anything stupid (over adjust) you'll do fine at 4nl. Your opponents haven't analysed their game as much as you have, and their play will be allarmingly bad.

Decieful, I would also look to add a couple more buy-ins to the 4nl game, maybe get the BR up to 120 ish, before going at it full force. If you do run bad right away, it is less risk you will go broke, and will allow you to see if you are truly getting beat at the limit, or if you are just getting bad beats.

I made the jump this afternoon and am up just shy of $22 after a little less than 3.2 hours (912 hands) play in 2 fairly equal sessions!

I just in the last couple of days finished a 2000 hand downswing so I will put today's success down to renewed confidence, aggressive play and obviously running VERY well.

I am not going to kid myself thinking 30BB/100 hands is by any means sustainable. I would be more than happy with 8 longterm.

I do think this game is substantially harder. maybe 1.5 times so for twice the bets. At 2NL no-one wants to raise so pre-flop is VERY straight forward and 99% on auto-pilot. Here at 4NL I think players have worked out that raising is the way forward so I have had a lot more decisions to make before the flop. Post flop play is pretty similar though.

Also I am somewhat torn over my pre-flop strategy with small pocket pairs. I am thinking 22-66. The way I use to play them was to call the higher (66) from early position if stacks would allow me to set mine, calling a raise if it were no more than 10 times the amount in BOTH mine AND villain's stack

...and from late position down to (22) but with stacks of both me and villain raiser 20 times the raise. I did beleive that 66 had substantially more value than 22 but now I am not so sure. According to Tony Guererra's book Killer Poker by The Numbers and confirmed after some time with Pokerstove software, 66 has at most 10% more chance of hitting a favourable flop than 22. This has caused me to question my pre-flop set mining strategy with low pocket pairs!

I am thinking I may be better off playing all pairs from 22-66 the same way (and from all positions), most of the time calling and then only calling a raise with a set number of callers or if stack sizes of the raiser AND mine I are say 15 times the raise?

What do you guys think?
