Lately I have been playing heads-up matches almost exclusively and am having unprecedented success. Today on bodog I played 18 $11 + .50 matches and won 16. However, the 2 loses lasted a total of 5 hands due to opponents all-ins with shitty cards. Is the coin flip worth it so early in a match.

Yeah but the fish are hard to control. sometimes i wish i was playing with people who had a clue. Nothing like AK losing to a donk with 2 5 suited.

You think if your playing against good solid players you are going to win 16 of 18?
By the way congrats on the run & welcome to the forum.

My tried an true method of HU play:

I sit down to play HU with KC in Vegas. I wait till the whole cards are dealt and then mention an incredibly hot waitress is walking behind KC. He turns to check her out and I swipe 1/2 his stack. I fold the next few hands till another cute girl walks by behind KC so I can swipe some 1/2 his remaing stack. Repeat as needed so by the time he bets all in he only has 1 or 2 chips left.

Works like a charm every time:D

If someone keeps going all in with shitty cards all u can do really is to wait it out and when u get cards that u think u can win with 75% of the time go for it. At the end of the day heads up is a race and there is alot of bluffing involved.

Heads up play online

I have noticed that heads up play is different site to site. It seems that some sites have software that is written to reward certain players with lots of bad beat suck outs. I would suspect that these players deposit larger amounts and more often. Has anyone else noticed biased sites online?

My strategy is simple

Unless the player is a total maniac I tend to put the pedal to the metal by constantly raising and re-raising with tight passive players. However, it usually takes me at least a couple of hands to see what kind of player they are. I do this by raising on the first hand no matter what. Generally, the crappy loose player will fire back a re-raise or even an all-in. the tight passive player will fold. The loose player will be further put to the test in hand number 2 with another raise to test their betting. Granted this isn't the 100% telltale way to garner their intestinal fortitude but it works in conjunction with the unmistakble rhythem of HU action when you just build up your chips like a pile of dirt:D.
