I have a much easier time criticizing other people than I do myself:p So, I decided to look at the mistakes my opponents had made in the top ten biggest pots of my PT data base. These were all $10/$25 NL.

Two of those ten were set vs set confrontations that I don't see how my opponent could have gotten away from. In the other eight however, my opponents made serious mistakes for their whole stack. The mistakes (as best I could tell) were:

  • Over played two pair
    Slow played a flopped set
    Couldn't fold top pair
    Wouldn't fold second pair
    Over played flush draw
    Over played TPTK
Over played an over pair (JJ)
    Over played TPTK

Excellent post...overplaying a flopped 2 pair has cost me many tourneys. I'm really not certain if I'm + or - overall playing them like I have the nuts.

Overplaying a flopped 2 pair.

Anyone has ever wondered why we tend to lose those hands ?

Its always like somebody must have got either a better pair or trips or a striaght or flush or nethin!

Must be somethin 2 it.

Thanks for the responses guys. I just found a leak...

Two pair is a loser for me over-all, how bad is THAT?! Lol. Eight out of ten of the biggest losses come from playing wierd hands out of the blinds. Hands like K5, J5, Q4 in unraised multi-way pots.

Flop comes K85 and I lose my stack playing K5 like it's stone cold. I'm gonna stop doing that...
