I hate to disagree, but only playing the hands where you think you are the favorite to win will decrease your bankroll really fast. At the super micro limits like .02/.05 you may not be able to bluff, but even at the .10/.20 tables bluffing is a very effective strategy. I agree that you shouldnt bluff until you find a great opportunity and know what youre doing, but eliminating it completely will really hurt your bankroll. I am only speaking from my personal experiences as I play .10/.20 tables very often, but it works pretty well for me. (Which site you're playing on could also effect this I guess, as players on some sites value their money more than others)xdmanx007 said:Impatient poker players are broke poker players. In micro games there is no real point in bluffing. Again DON'T BLUFF! If you want to test your skills you must build your bankroll till you can play the limits where the better players are.
When i'm playing low limit i write "DON'T BLUFF" in big letters as a reminder!(usually after someone has called my bluff with bottom pair).xdmanx007 said:Impatient poker players are broke poker players. how it going, i've realized that the only time bluffing really works is when you have only one to two add'l people in the pot and your chip lead is fairly substancial. People check or even call with crap hands in internet poker. Until the blinds are higher, people will call you or go all in with you all the time.jpockets said:Any suggestions of strategies for minimum money no limit internet cash games? I'm having a nightmare. I'm fairly aggressive as a player but my bluffing seems to be back firing big time. Don't have the patience to play really tight!:egg:
OH MY Crip! Playing cards only when you feel you are favorite is at the core of becoming a good poker player! Sure there are situations where you should play hands preflop when you are probably behind, drawing hands in multi-way pots, but in order to be a long term successful poker player you MUST play the vast majority of your hands when you are a favorite. You might have some short term success playing from behind and hoping to hit monsters but long term it WILL catch upto you and your bankroll will be smoked!Crippler450 said:I hate to disagree, but only playing the hands where you think you are the favorite to win will decrease your bankroll really fast.
