Hey guys new cash game player, use to play sngs and mtts but gave up sngs because I was really was just making money playing mtts, just breaking even on sngs.

So I am going to continue to play mtts but I switching too cash game instead of sngs for a few reasons, more traffic on the tables rather than sngs on carbon, plus I feel like it would help my tourney game overall if I became a better cash game player.

I have a roll of like $450 so im playing 0.05/0.10. I don't know if I should be playing 6 ppl tables or 9 ppl tables though. I played a few hours of 9 ppl tables last night, lost a little. I felt like I was playing to many average hands, K 10 suited J 10 suited A 10 off A 8 suited etc.

So many question is I guess which do you think is easy to beat and make a good profit, 6 or 9 ppl tables and what stragey would you suggest?

Glad to see another person making the switch(partial that is). As far as which to play 6Max or FR, it's really your choice. Since you are trying to get the feel of cash games as a whole, I would probably recommend FR just because you won't be playing as many hands and therefore aren't as aggressive. with 6Max, we are eliminating the first 3 positions, so your range is going to widen quite and bit and you're going to want to be playing more hands overall and be more aggressive, and that is hard for some players to do.

As far as strategy, there are two ebooks that I would recommend to you.
The ferst one is by Verneer and is mainly a FR guide: Moving Up Through uNL
This one is by Ryan Fees and is a 6Max guide: Ryan Fee's Guide to 6Max

Hope that helps get your feet wet.
