Is it beneficial to post your big blind in the CO?
Suppose you're playing full-ring with 9 players.
Typically, you wait until you're the BB until you post. You will pay 1.5bbs to see all 9 positions (post 1bb on BB, post 0.5bbs on SB and see the other 7 positions for free).
You are not allowed to post in the BTN, but you can post in the CO.
When you post in the CO, you only see 6 hands instead of 9 (you don't play the SB, BB or BTN), but you're only paying 1bb instead of 1.5bbs.
Mathematically, paying 1bb to see 6 hands is equivalent of paying 1.5bbs to see 9 hands. You're seeing 6 hands per 1bb paid.
So the only decision you're making is: is it worthwhile to give up your BTN position (best position) to avoid playing in the SB and BB (worst positions)? Because if it is, then that means that posting in the CO is better than waiting until you're the BB.
And the implications go further than that: walking away or "sitting out" every time you're in the BB and then posting again when you're in the CO would be the optimal way to play (assuming they only charge you 1bb for this, rather than 1.5bbs like some live casinos
