re: Poker & doubts about studying for results
I think that the beauty of poker that there is so much that goes into a good player. It is the ability to manage so many different aspects of a game: Mental, financial, discipline, analytical thinking, problem solving, social skills, etc.
Now at a much smaller scale you want to think about making the right decision each and every time. In order to do this you have to be able to criticize yourself and be able to plug leaks and admit when you are not playing very well.
Some people hire coaches to improve there game and there are a lot of resources out there. I like to follow a specific streamer that has a great informative stream and his blog entries are very interesting and broad in terms of topics. Heres a good one on common leaks I found helpful a few months back. http://pokerinabox.com/common-leaks/
Another option is to join a study group of people in a similar situation and just be involved in a poker community. You are here so i'm sure that is a great start. Just remember Practice Practice Practice.
