Notice when I play one table online I'll easily double/ triple my buy in. The moment I start playing more than 1 table is when things start to go south. Bad decisions. Losing, big pots. Bad bluffs. From now on out I'm only going to play 1 table at a time. Any one else have this happen to them and stop multi tabling?

Started playing 2 tables, abc-poker few days ago, only freerolls.
Yesterday almost itm in 2, but poor play from me resulted in only 1.
Today best result ever itm on both.
I think my brain is too small for more than 1 table and I just got lucky with th winnings.

Exactly. I have been chip leader in major tournaments (80k GTD & 50k GTD played simultaneously) , so much so that I had more chips than the top 5 players and another tournament start and I try to play both and end up losing both. I can even be chip leader in both tournaments for a while but will eventually blow it. I'll miss that my opponent hit a flush draw when I have a straight or just something blatantly obvious that I wouldn't normally do if I was concentrated on one game.

Multi tabling is definitely not a good idea, too much happening to be able to study your opponents play

The game at multitables is different from the game at the only table. When you play at multitables your desicions are more standart. You don't think too much because you simply don't have enough time. At the same time playing at one tables helps you pay much attention to details. You learn how the opponents play. And by that you know when it's the right time to bet, to bluff or to go allin.

you need to use a hud and really know how to use it to make quick decisions when multi tabling. I find that as I move up in stakes it need time to adjust to more tables.

What's your profile name? We will look it up and see if you are profitable while playing more than one table.

Multi tabling takes a lot of practice. Start off slow and work your way up.

Its good that you noticed this.

I play poker for a living the past 5 years in casinos. Just started playing online poker a few weeks ago. Two tables is my max at the moment. I prefer to just play one table.

It does allow you to play tighter and never get bored though. There are times in live poker where i have gone 6 hours with out playing a single hand. Its just the way it goes sometimes. That would never happen when multi tabling online. I like that.

I sometime play up to 14 tables, it's easier to find weak players faster when you multi table.
Also i don't need to play for 10h+ to get a decent sample for the day, in like 3hours You get like the amount of hands you would get in 3-4 days playing poker for 10hours/day

Isn't multi-table the only solution if for example there are several tournaments at the same time or whatever ...

It's quite a personal feeling if you can handle multiple tables at once. It's definitely not for everyone. Just make sure you don't start out with 5 tables at first. Try 2, see how that works out for you. If it works, you can slowly add more tables once you're comfortable enough!

I've been playing poker for a long time, but I haven't been able to work out the quality of the game I need to play on three or more tables! And I think this quality I can't develop, can't focus on the big flow of information! My brain does not have time to process all the information and make the only right decision!

I've never really been able to multi table myself, my decision making falls off and if i'm dealt 3 quality starting hands (rare but it does happen) consecutively, you can bet i'm going to misplay one of them badly. I'm trying to get better, alongside a tourney i'll play some 2NL just to try to improve this aspect of my game, but more than that and I really can't handle it. I've got no idea how the wizards play all those tables to be honest

Hey. Professionals recommend playing 4 tables 6 max and one table heads-up. So you will develop quickly. You will watch your opponents and write notes. You will play better against a good players. If you play 12 tables, your decisions will be much worse and you will stop learning.

I only like to play one or two tables max. I find it to hard to concentrate on all the things necessary for success with a large about of tables open.

If I play just one table I find myself wanting to play a lot looser than I should coz I get bored. I like to play zoom nowadays. When you fold you don’t have to wait around for another hand.

I find I win more when I play at multiple tables. Helps you not over-focus wins/loses too.

For me it's the opposite, when I'm playing one table I overthink plays, and end up hero calling more than I should. When I don't have time to think I just fold

I too, for the time being, try to play only in one tournament at a time, because when I open 2 or more tables, things start to go minus. I just do not notice the tips and make a lot of mistakes, I enter into a hand when I need to fold....

I do multi table sometimes but find that I miss a lot of reads on the players. Holdem Manager does help , but not quite enough .

It is hard playing multi tables. I usually play two to three tables for free rolls and sit n gos. Cash games I usually tend to play one table that way I can focus . If I play more than one table on cash game I tend to make a few mistakes.

It depends what limits you're playing. I can comfortably 18 table 2 or 5nl, or 6 tables of Zoom at those limits. Whereas I'd probably struggle to do that at 10nl and higher. You're just put under much more pressure as the standard rises., and thus you need more thinking time.

There's still so many recreational players at the very lowest limits that you can autopilot and still make a good return. You can make a LOT more, in terms of hourly, mass tabling lower limits than playing 1 or 2 tables with a higher bb/100. That said, if you plan to improve and move up then I'd suggest playing fewer tables.
