Steps Poker Stars can take to protect and attract more recreational players
I have been playing PS for several years and have enjoyed it very much. Did well in tourneys and on and off playing cash. The numerous rule and structure changes that have been taken place are in favour for the regulars. Example, the regs complained about short stackers hit and running. The min. buy in was raised from 20 to 40bb in NL. The most recent change is more anti rat hole rules. Along with poker tracker software and HUDS, beating the games on a regular basis is very hard at lower limits too now.
Two things that I noticed playing at other poker rooms that had global seating to combat bum hunters, banning all poker tracker software and alias change option is my win rate sky rocketed. I always thought playing on other smaller sites would not be profitable, but it helped me. I also find rake back really good since I am a fulltime 40 hour a week player now.
is massive, but I believe they could be bigger and attract more bottom rung players like myself by having global seating, no software and HUDS, and a VIP/ Rake back scheme that does not favour uber high volume players.
