So I recently came in 3rd in a FT freeroll, netting $9. I already had 2 Tourney dollars from the Ferguson Satellite and was wondering if I should convert those tourney dollars to cash. This would mean that I would get $1.90 in cash because I will lose 5% to commission.

It seems like it would make more sense for me to keep the 2 tourney dollars but I wanted to get some input/suggestions. Thanks!

Thanks trojan - it didn't even occur to me that there might be a minimum amount needed to convert tourney dollars to cash. And thanks for pointing out the 90 person SNG. I had my reservations about playing the .10 tourney and the way I've been playing of late, I'm better suited for a multi-table SNG rather than a ring game.

The Ferguson Satellite is under the Play Money section, under the tournaments tab. The tournament is highlighted in purple/pink and registration starts daily at 22:00, with the tourney starting at 22:10. Registration fills up in about 10 seconds, so you have to be quick. Out of 2700, the top 100 get a 1T dollar. Typically these tourneys last an hour and a half.

Tell us what you intend to do with that cash? At tilt there is no great ring game you could use it at, but if you look long and hard and have a flexible schedule, you can find 10 cent tourneys there.

I actually didn't have a specific purpose in mind when I mentioned converting the T dollars - they've been sitting in my account for a while so I started to think, "might as well convert it into cash," then thought twice and decided to get people's input.

Since my work schedule's highly variable, the 10 cent tourney would be a bit tough to fit in except on weekends. I read on another thread (the $6 bankroll thread in the Learning Poker section) that it could take about 3 hours to make ITM. I'm not sure how long the 90 person SNG would be, but if that's shorter in duration, then I'll consider that as a more viable option.

I personally wouldnt change over such a small amount (if its possible). Doesn't FTP make enough money by screwing us with the rake and buy-in costs. Why would I want to give them another 5% of chips I worked hard for?

The 90 person SNG can go for 3 hours and up. Just thought you might want to know =)

Blah! Guess I'll have to reconsider that SNG then. Maybe the 45 one then, although it still looks like it goes 2+ hours! Too bad FT doesn't have an 18 player SNG - they have with play money but not for the $1.25 ones.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I think I'll just play FT on the weekends or on days where I get out of work early.:(

don't Convert

I wouldn't do it, unless it was a big amount that you wanted to cash out....

if it's only $5 or $10... you might as well just leave it there, and use it to play tournaments with... because you will loose a few cents, when you turn them into cash...
