Oh boy. Hollywood Park casinos opened up $20-$40 buy-in at $1/$2. I thought $40-$100 buy-in for $1/$2 was already short enough because vegas casinos, you can buy in for $200, 100bb full. Hawaiian Gardens also has $20 buy-in for $1/$1, $40 buy-in for $1/$2. Commerce also has $40 buy-in for $1/$2. As if these aren't short-stacked enough, they're creating more shorter buy-ins, which really pisses me off. It's gonna take lot of fishes and donks away from regular $40-$100 tables for $1/$2 and many are gonna just head over to $20-$40 and start playing bingo, shovefest, craps game, etc. I hate this.

You know that most of the players are sitting there with hundreds behind.....in their pockets? Right?, You know this?

Not only that, but lots of them will rat hole. They will cash when their stacks get 2 or 3 times what they bought in for, and then come back and get in line for their old seat.

Midweek, most of these players are regs, and have been for years, they BBQ together, and know family's of each other. There can easily be unintentional collusion, not to mention outright collusion.

On those occasions when I feel like playing ring at the casino, I go in with the notion of trying to have a good time, and while that makes me exactly who they want playing, it doesn't mean I play stupid. Until I get a big stack and I don't walk away. That is my brand of stupid.

live table play short stack....
what a joke...

based on bb/100 hands convert to buck per hour something...
play shortstack for money is way too bad
play shortstack for fun?<-- don't think it is fun to wait for a hand for 1 or 2 hours and double up and go... in that case would more like to find big bear lake and stay there for a bigger fish in a whole day.

LOL

Most of the live table games in California are Limit.

Short stacking a limit game is not the same.

just a good business move by the card room. if your customers are broke you aint getting no rake from em, thats why in the old days you had to look long and hard for a no limit game, the clubs simply didnt want all their customers going broke to fast was bad for business

These are No Limit games. Go to the site. It says $40-$100 buy-in for $1/$2 NLHE. As if that wasn't short-stacked enough, they're making $1/$2 NLHE where you can buy-in for $20-$40. Wtf? 10-20bb? It's a joke. I just came back from Hollywood Park Casino. As I cashed out my winnings tonight, I took a look at that table. People were shoving and calling with face cards(JQo) and suited connectors such as 67s. Honestly though, I rather just pay $40 and play the tournament than playing this super-short-stack cash game.

I haven't witnessed any collusion because I've been going there for almost a month now. Every table, I haven't seen two people in same table often. But yeah, it's a joke that they're creating lower buy-in for cash game NL. They cap the buy-in at 20bb-50bb for Hollywood Park Casino, 20bb for commerce and hawaiian gardens. But since as if this wasn't enough, they created tables where you can buy into NLHE $1/$2 for 10bb-20bb. It's gonna take lot of donks and fishes out of 20-50bb and put them into 10bb-20bb.

I heard Commerce Casino has lot of colluding players. Although I've only heard it through rumors and stories, Not good to get near it or play there, especially when you can only buy in to their tables for $40 at $1/$2 blinds.

Collusion is held everywhere. I believe online is WAAAAAY easier to collude than live games. So by your logic, online is more rigged(not rigged in terms of the online poker rng system and site but the players who rig it by sharing the hole cards) because friends can sit on one table, use their phones or aim/msn/skype or even use voip so that they don't even type to each other and share their hole cards, and it's way easier to do than doing it live.
