pokerstars security?

I was playing a satelite last night on PS and in my chat box was a note that I had 100 seconds to type in the word that they had put in there ("Sequel" was the word).Anyone have any experiance like this or know the penalty for not doing it.Thanks in advance for any info.

I have heard about this, but never had it happen to myself before.

Its an anti-bot method.

I'd imagine if you didnt enter the word in, you would have got your account locked or at the very least temporarily frozen.

It happened to one of my friends they do that just to make sure your not a BOT. My friend was playing about 12 tables at once when they did it to him.
Great feature IMO. they're just trying to cut down on all the cheaters. YAY for the best Moderators and security in online poker.

What if your chat box is off?

I have playing 10nl full ring recently. I was given 100 seconds to type a "Captcha" type word, then right away they made me type a second one. A bit of an inconvenience since I was in a big pot on one, but a few seconds to type a word a small price to pay to help them eliminate bots.

The warning fills the entire chat area, pretty sure it would do the same chat on or off.

Happened to me some months ago. I also think its because of bots. But on the other side it makes me wonder why my play resembles bot-play

Defo a good idea, and the easiest and cheapest way of policing the games.

I've had these things twice already. This was about 6 months ago. I read somewhere awhile back that your picked at random. Nice idea, but at 5/10 no limit, I'm not sure all the players can read.

Hopefully it's pretty damn obvious because I never pay attention to the chat box :S

I had it happen to me a couple of days ago. I sent support an email to see what was going on. I've played at Stars for awhile and had never seen nor heard of that before. And it really freaked me out when I asked my table about it. I thought everyone at the table got the message, it was just me. Which made me freak out a bit, so I sent support an email to see what the deal was, below is their reply. I feel it's a really good thing they are doing!!!

Well, I guess it's nice and all. Would only hope they have a system put in place to not do it when you're sitting out. The fact they give you 100 secs might indicate that (time bank is 60 secs). And not only should it fill the chat window, but they should keep sticking it there. It could disappear in seconds at the end of a hand, especially if you don't view full-screen. Could bite them in the ass if you're multi-tabling. But for now, I'll trust they know what they're doing.

I was multi tabling when I got it. It shows up on all your chat windows on all your tables. you can't see the chat text anymore, it floats above it. You can't miss it, as soon as you type it in on one window it goes away on all the windows. So if you ever get it, you'll know it!!!

ALL the tables - wow!! Yeah, never got that, and probably never will. Pretty crafty, good on 'em. Seriously, if that's why they do this, PS looks better & better in my eyes every day.

Happened to me and I was only at like 2 SNG's at the time. almost missed it not paying attention.

Just got one myself and then google it to see if it was for Bots and this post come up. Funny thing was I was kicking ass on my cash table at the time and took it as a compliment lol. Thought I'm doing so well here pokerstars thinks im a machine :+)
