I had (past tense) a Word document on my computer entitled ~P~S~S.doc that I used as a passwords backup for about 50-60 internet sites and email addresses, including my bank accounts, paypal, eBay, 5-6 poker sites, etc.

I had cause to access that list today and discovered that it was missing from My Documents where it has always resided. I used an undelete program and scanned my C:\ drive and recovered it and two associated Word .tmp files. Upon opening the file, I was horrified to find out that the file had been overwritten with poker data. The temp files have what looks to be HTML code of actual hands I played in particular tournaments.

In addition, the ~P~S~S file also contains references to various other files on my computer that I don't think my poker software should be accessing... Names of document and MP3 files across multiple folders.

Why would my poker software be accessing these files?

More importantly, why would it overwrite this most important ~P~S~S.doc file with poker data and then delete the damn thing?

I HAVE LOST EVERY ONE OF MY PASSWORDS BECAUSE OF THIS AND I WANT VENGEANCE!

Below are samples of the data in each file:

~P~S~S.doc (my old password list):

Im pretty sure you can retrieve the word file using the "restore" function in Windows

I have not seen this type of thing before...Could it be Worm, Virus etc?

Do you run current, updated Anti Virus program? If so, you better run a scan immediately

Anyone with better knowledge on the possible cause can chime in obv

That would be my first guess WEC.
Also where did you get this spftware from.
What kind of software is it.
Settings on word.
I would definatly start by running a scan though,as stated above.
Then maybe keeping close eye on your bank account and password protected items to make sure nobody is looking around your stuff.
