I forgot to mention that what i find to be most interesting here is that if this law passes it seems that online sites will be created by casinos that exist in New Jersey. Like trump and ballys would be running these sites. I guess i am ok with that but I was also hoping to be able to choose FTP and pS to play at if I wanted to.
Seems to me that the ideal situation might be for each B&M casino to provide a 'skin' to some existing online site. If Stars and FTP act aggressively, they will willingly provide that capacity. I would sort of hate to be stuck at the existing 'skin' based networks.
However, when I first got into the game there was a nifty site, part of a network whose name I can not name, where I cashed out and began my online career. The Bike, named obviously to relate to the Bicycle Club, a world renowned casino just up the road from me. It was a skin to a network I can not name, and when I cashed out, the money actually came from another skin on that network.
It is gone now, along with that other skin, and maybe that whole network. But the idea that a 3rd party provide the software and facilities for the big name casinos seems like a good idea to me.
So we may see sites with names Like Bicycle Tilt, Commerce Stars or Hustler Merge........
Along with this more perfect version of the idea as a whole comes a little tidbit from my past. Long ago, in a galaxy far far away, when I would go to Vegas, or Tahoe and move between the casinos, the chips from one casino would be honored at another casino. I've heard that doesn't happen anymore but since it's been many a moon since I was in any of those places, I can not verify. But the point would be some Universal Currency that all the sites would accept, something like a US Dollar Backed Pay Pal or Netteller would suffice. With the ability, for those near a casino, to conduct deposits and withdrawals at the B&M casino. I can't see any casino objecting to this as it would mean a hot body is inside its doors, with money! I understand the existing Nevada (and others) casinos want to protect their turf, but I really think they are getting overly greedy.
Cheers to New Jersey for a forward looking idea.
