Yea how it works is they take basically 35% off the top 25% for next jackpot and 10% to the house, then whats left loser get 1/2 the winner gets 1/4 everyone else at THAT table gets $1000 then everyone playing at same table type and stakes gets a portion including the winning table. So if your playing at that table and say 3 others you will get the $1000 and whatever the portion is for each table X4.They pay everyone playing at that stake on Ultimatebet?
Wow I never knew they paid it out like that...thought it was only on the table that it got hit!
However are those bad beat tables really worth it with the extra rake over the long run?
Aye, there's the rub, as Shakespeare said. I don't think so is my short answer. Longer answer is that before Cereus took over Absolute Poker and Ultimatebet, the play caliber of play on Ultimatebet seemed better, at least at the lower limit JP tables. Not anymore, IMHO. I think you need to be really careful so that Cereus doesn't become a huge money pit while you seek the illusive JP.
If, however, your style of play suits the JP games that are spread and you can make a profit, I'd say go for it. Winning a piece of the JP would then just be like an unexpected bonus.
if more fish tend to play on the jackpot tables rather than the regular tables, then there is a possibility you would have a higher win rate on the jackpot tables even with the higher rake.
Now I've never played the jackpot tables or really much on Ultimatebet at all. But, if more fish tend to play on the jackpot tables rather than the regular tables, then there is a possibility you would have a higher win rate on the jackpot tables even with the higher rake. Which would make the Jackpot tables more profitable to play on, with the chance of also hitting a big score via a BB jackpot.

I tend to agree, not doing any math because I don't feel like it, but if you are paying extra rake on a given limit for the jackpot, compared to a table that doesn't offer the jackpot, then I would say it's not worth it.
However, if the rake is the same and the house just eats the rake for the badbeat, then a bad beat table would be worth it.

Interesting question, only way to really know would be to play 50k hands or so on each table type and compare the data. And 50k hands would just give you an idea, but that's probably not even enough hands to accurately compare the win rates between the two table types.
