Hi folks,
I just got an email from Full Tilt to let me know that I had a small reinbursement because...

"The full tilt poker Security department has recently concluded an extensive investigation and we have determined that some of your opponents were in violation of our site terms.

We have permanently closed all of the offending accounts. In cases of proven cheating, 100% of the confiscated funds are returned to the players who were victimized. The reimbursement calculation is based on the number of tournaments or hands played against the offending players, and the amount won or lost against them."

Nice to know there is a little justice in the world.

Nice to hear. Glad you got some $$ back.

Bad part is the increase in reports of refunded $$ over discovery of more cheating players. ... :(

Would be nice to know which ones and when. That could/might explain some of the prior posts about how certain hands turned out against you so often.

I do remember several times, where the table just felt kinda funny, ya know? Like people were protecting each other's hand, or like I was being raised and re-raised out of the pot. Stuff like that. It would have been nice to know which games were compromised.

Ya know Nick, December was a really, REALLY bad month. Not only were people outdrawing me, now I find out people were also cheating!!!!!!! Talk about a double whammy.

Outdrawn + cheating = really crappy month.

The bankroll took a major beating, but the funny part is, I did NOT go broke. I played way under BR requirements and made sure I had at least 100 buy-ins before i moved up. If I followed traditional BR rules i would have busted out a long time ago.

A number of the sites reimburse when cheaters are uncovered and investigations are complete.

It usually happens after someone reports suspicious play and they investigate. They try to determine which pots were involved in the cheating and which player lost because of it. The bigger sites also have programs that recognize suspicious play and the security divisions investigate. It's similar to the functions that the IRS in the States uses to spit out irregular patterns or circumstances, and it triggers an investigation.

It doesn't have to be the player who reports it to be the one receiving funds. They will refund all players who were cheated.

I reported two players I thought were chip dumping on poker stars. It didn't affect me, I won the double or nothing tourney it was in. Poker stars sent me an email stating they found proof that they were colluding and reimbursed players that were affected after closing their accounts and taking their money to pay back the players they cheated.
It is always a good idea if you suspect cheating to report it. I don't mean if you get a bad beat, that happens. Poker stars stated that since I won I woudn't be getting any money. I knew this in advance, I was looking at all of the other players they were cheating. It was a 5.00 buy in, not too expensive but expensive enough. I kept their names and noticed they were in more tourneys together.

I'm grateful I got some money back, but it kinda makes me wonder how many people get away with it? Ya know? I mean there were several times, where I was at the tables with a really, really eerie feeling. I guess that is my cheater detector going off.

Sounds great, good for FTP. Now if the can share ISP, banking information and personal info with other sites to make it harder to grab new ID's and there back in business at other sites.

that is nice of them to give back when people cheat against you rather then them just collecting off it

This too makes me wonder how much cheating is going on. To be honest I haven't heard of much cheating online, except for the AB/UB scandal. I guess I'm being naive. I've had experiences in tournaments where there were some very odd all-ins and calls. It is good to know the sites are monitoring this on their own and not just when someone submits a claim of suspicious activity.

I've just had the exact same mail from Full Tilt. And the money has already been reimbursed to my account.

Great that they catch cheats (sometimes) and give the cash back, but prior to this I thought I was just being paranoid. So many times something felt wrong...

A lot of people are in the 'online poker is rigged' brigaid...but the bigger issue and clearly a very real issue is cheating players. I'd love to know the details of the cheating but FT don't give any further info....

Wonder how much more money I'm truly owed...

FT has always been awesome about this. I had someone hack my account once and even though FT at first said they couldnt do anything about it in the end they got my whole roll back for me.

CHEATS AGAIN!

Just had my second reimbursment from FT. That's two inside two weeks.

Nice they are catching them but this is worrying.

I play quite a lot of 6max SNGs, and I'm guessing this is where it happens. The short handed single table must be ideal for the cheats to team up.

Again, nice one FT...but these players should be named!!! I'd at least like confirmation of the circumstances to help me spot it more easily, but sadly FT won't elaborate.

They probably wont elaborate because there is really no need to. Once they get caught they are usually banned from the site and then you dont have to worry about playing agianst them anymore.

That's great news for you. I know I would be extremely happy to receive money back into my account after I lost it at the tables. Congratulations!

I've never been shipped $'s due to cheaters being caught on any of the tables I've played on (even though I've reported a few & have received emails saying they'd been dealt with... collusion was blatant... they were obvious donks because they were colluding right in the chat box).

Now if Fulltilt would just start shipping back funds for all of the damn disconnects happening over the past while.... arghh!

Nice to hear you got some cash back. Unfortunately it does not happen that way as often as it should.
