When I try to install the new updates, it says "problem decompressing archive"

What does that mean? Is it a problem with my computer or FT?

I had a problem several months back on pokerstars----don't remember the exact description--but I could not install the updates. I had to uninstall the entire program from my computer, and start over from scratch, once I reinstalled it-it was fine.
I'm no computer wiz-but I hope that helps.Good Luck

i had a similar problem...the ft software is so big you need a fast connection and computer

my connection is slow so i had to keep downloading it over and over and the % complete went from 50% or so up a few %points each download unil it fully downloaded.

I had that happen at FT 1 time. I just waited a few minutes and tried again and it worked.

What's been said above, pretty much - I had that happen a few times to me when they did their big software update a few months back. Usually it seems to mean your connection to their server has timed out, just keep trying or come back and try a few hours later and it'll probably work.

usually it's a server problem... Best think to do if you don't want to wait and try again later just reinstal the software (you don't need to uninstall just reinstal in the same directory)

Also make sure that you have everything else closed (msn, google and yes, even cardschat) when you open FT.

I too had the same probs when they did their big update, the above is correct, another option is to try downloading it when FT is not so busy.

Fresh install shouldn't hurt anything. If your saving hand history, might wipe that file clean. Can always e-mail FTP support.

I have problems with it just locking up when I act too quickly. It is usually a hand that I have hit trips and acting week to get them to push. It has locked up on me after I got them to push. However, since it locked up, I ended up getting folded and the other person won the hand. So I now just bet the hand and if they fold, well at least I did not loose the hand.
