There are several dedicated Staking Sites, and several dedicated staking threads (located inside poker forums
) where players and investors team up for SNGs, MTTs and some cash games. Generally, an investor puts up the entry fee and the player plays the game, and they split the profits.
When staking first started, it was much harder to attract stakes and you generally needed time, experience and good stats. These days, there has been so much money made, that just about any player can get staked (even if it is starting out at 1.10 SNGs or <$1 MTTs). There are many instances of players starting with zero BR and at 1.10 SNGs and moving up thru staking to a large bankroll and playing the Sunday Majors on others dime. Most of these players also turn to investing in others as well.
