Chosing one´s screen name

i have seen several screen names, from the weirdest to the simplest but they are several sites to play poker and generally one tryes to choose the same screen name for all of them (sometimes one can not so one changes from site to site)

but when asked by the site about one´s screen name how do you do to make your choice?

a lot of people will say they use they same name, like jsmith or adding the birth year, like james1985, or something like that but i have seen so creative screen names that it will be interisting to know what is the reason of the name,

for instance mine is jj20002, the reason my name is jj but it was taken so the site gave some choices and i took jj20002 among four others they had,

that is a good idea to choose
keywords+ numbers/letter combinations for your screen names for different sites.

cos easy to remember.

Сhoice of nickname, a private matter, in my opinion is not important nickname, and how many chips you have at the table that's what matters. The game no one pays nicknames.

It doesn't really matter much. Most of the people I know just put in their nickname from school or work with few numbers, initials or whatever. Cool nick won't win you anything but yea, I have also seen some nicks that were very creative or funny and I somehow usually expect that holders of those nicks are solid players. idk why.. It's mostly not true anyway. Actually they are as bad as the ones with silly nicks.

Something you remember most people but a word they like or intials or name abbreviation + number.

I took time almost a decade ago on pokerstars... damn I need a poker alias... boom DeadlyAim.

Bovada doesn't have that.... it randomly assigns numbers.

Im a precise poker player... when Im in a hand its calculated and when I bet its calculated... I bet and even have a fold ratio/percentage... Im good with numbers. If I wanted to I can take out anyone any time... but comes down to the cards/luck...

I wanted to strike fear into opponents... but now I realize its better to be Joe Smo cause their hey... wtf... just happened Joe took half my shit. But if DeadlyAim plays you... wonder if he is good... damn... yep... fold... no money for me.

I can feel the fear in players even without my nickname... they go from calling with crap to be like damn 65 or whatever number I get is ****ing good must not play like a tard with him lol.

Maybe I need to say stupid shit and act dumb so I really surprise the hell out of people lol.

i have several names on different sites from dog breeds to favoured heroes, nothing original, for me durrrr is original name
but the name dont show your skill bankroll does

My name MrBluntz simply came from my love of marijuana and the fact that I smoke out of blunts, and MrBlunts was taken on ACR I believe so I went with the Z =]

I have always used a variation of tbdbitl. For me this was a group I was a part of and continue to support.

My id on all site is crusinnn, I use it everywhere because it's easy to remember . I first got it because I like cars and like cruising in cars lol. Cruising is almost never available so my first choice suggestion was crusinnn

I like to use names that will get people thinking I am a fish. Like on Players Only, my name is Fish4Hire. I hope that on a subconscious level, people playing think ol he is a fish and bluffing. Not sure if it works but it is worth a try right?

Good thinking, it might work on some but not on pros, they will completely ignore the name. I am not a pro but if I see a name like that I would immediately assume you would try to confuse me because no one chooses a name that include fish like that without any motives or maybe you would want me to think like that and do the opposite lol.

My screen name is from a multiplayer game (AVP2 - Aliensvspredators2). Ati is abbrevation for my first name FCOD is the clan's name I belonged to (FlyingChickensOfDeath). Ati(FCOD)

All in all, screen names are just an inconsequential choice. For me personally I'm always some variation of Therminator even before I played poker. I think it all started on Steam nearly a decade ago and it just stuck.
