I find myself changing tables a lot in pokerstars online tournaments and it really bugs me.

So you spend 15-20 minutes trying to learn how people are betting and then maybe start winning a few hands, only to be moved onto a new table. Then you go through the same process over and over until you bubble out.

This seems to happen to me every 20 minutes or so.

Does this happen to you and if so how do you manage your play in these situations?

Pokerstars in particular seems to be the worst offender in regards to frequently moving table. Not only that it throws you a great pocket hand shortly after changing, only to get beaten by a donkey. To me it kinda smells like bot action, but maybe that’s just me being a bad loser. From these experiences I have learnt to be extremely careful with hands like this shortly after moving tables. Remember to play safe and keep your head in the correct frame of mind.

They have to keep rebalancing stakes sizes plus when people go bust. It would be wrong to have one table where three people go bust and the people left are not moved around. If its every 20 minutes that should be ok but I understand your point that getting to know the tables habits is very important.

You are always put at the table with players who have similar-sized stacks, if there are few players in the tournament they can put to the chip leaders. I play on PokerStars and did not notice the frequent change of players at new tables, I'm playing without auxiliary software and when change to another table it is frustrating to have to relearn study the players at the table.

Nothing can really be done about this, because they have to distribute the players as equally among tables as possible, and the number of players is constantly going up (during late registration) or down. If for instance 10 tables are running, but its now down to 81 players, one table is closed down and the players randomly distributed to the last 9 tables. Also when you dont have any reads, neither does your opponents, so it goes both ways.

If you play a single table tournament, you'll be with the same people the whole time.

Well that's the only way of keeping the tables full with 9/9 or 6/6 players all the time, after some players lose all their chips. Otherwise it'd be unfair.

Hi! I think the first place for me is of course the software interface and software. Nothing else matters. Yes feedback is of the utmost importance. Need to know if at the end someone ))

You must learn to put players in categories faster then. If not sure, fold more. I guess. Also taking notes always helps. Especially when you play the same games everytime. You meet the same players. You can go all in every two hands too. Noone will judge you.

I also do not like changing tables especially when I have a good reputation and it took me time to build. when that happens I'm forced to shake my game. It's time to get used to and analyze the game of my new opponents.
