For a $1 game, the rake might be $0.07, but if the prizepool is $2, you still make a $1 profit.

Point!.
Thanks, that is right. I miscalculated.

BUT: investing 1 to win 2 vs 3...

Still bad math. Specially in a turbo, where skill counts for less......

Having said that,
this shitty game is great when u r drunk, your wife is saying "COME TO BED" and you are bound and determined to play just ONE MORE...................

But you can win up to $3000 for just $1 :)

Usually you get $2, but occasionally I've gotten the $4 and $6, and once a $10.

Another point.

BUT: "up to" is paramount in this game.....:D

It goes to the bigger jackpot prize pools or at least I think it does.

The problem is it is a hyper-turbo. It will come down to a coin flip a lot. Just the nature of the game. There is an edge to be had, but harder to hold in this structure.

I think that is a good way to loose Money. We play a lot of them (we lose the majority of them) and more than 95% the price is allways the minimum.

My general motto is not to wise up people at the table, but i guess i can make an exception for you guys...

Firstly, as said above, the rake is irrelevant: You pay 1$, and two others pay 1$ each, 3$. Stars takes their 21c rake, and there is 2.79 left, 2$ goes into the (immediate) prize pool and the extra 79c goes into a sort of reservoir, this money is used to fund the jackpots etc... I cant remember the exact % but an absolutely massive majority of them are 2$. Which means youre looking at a 200% ROI most of the time (EDIT: So 33% of the time you get 200% = 66%), open up two tables, and you win one, you break even. All you need to do is have a slight edge on your competitors (really, really not hard) and you play until you hit a jackpot, and there is your profit. You probably arent going to be able to grind out a profit without hitting a jackpot (i consider anything above x6 a jackpot btw)

In conclusion, i enjoy these because i find them relatively easy to beat.

I realy like the spins , but if u play it, u have to exapt the fact that the varianz is very high and its more gamble than poker ;) so my result: for fun its a good thing but for making money stop plaing that crap

i've read on several forums that spin and gos are basically a roulette.............and with the rake increase is less and less profitable

Poker Stars and Fulltilt Spin&go's

Jeeesh....

I've played the "Spin & Go" on both Stars and FT - about 20 times on each at various amounts. Only once did it spin above the prize pool.
The others - they stole the money.

For instance..3 players @ $3 each - normally $9 - it always spins to $6

Never play these!

(mind you I did win 75% of the time - but only out of frustration...lol)

Cheers :jd4: :jd4:

Thanks Mads, was about to post that, they also made a bigger jackpot recently i think. Playing 20 of these is nowhere near enough.. poker is about the long run, not the short run.

even a 1k sample in these is nothing. Stuff like losing 20x multis when you're ahead AI pre heads-up really hurts your winrate.

what are you talking about. ps my best lottery I guess, if I remember $ 150. I often get $ 6 and $ 4. if you can play it, you can win.
(that wins are examples of the buy in $1)

All the people saying its not poker anymore... So, when youre playing a Turbo MTT with 350runners, and youre down to the final table, and fourth place goes out, three of you left, your stacks are 65BB, 50BB and 35BB, Is that not poker either?

Stop whining just because you dont understand the concept of how to beat these things, but please keep playing because its you that makes them beatable.
