Youre generally putting in 1$ for 2$ return.. which isnt great as you only win 1/3. So unless you have a good theoretical knowledge of how to play short handed, i wouldnt bother.

Winning these, at minimum levels players are very soft and I'm winning at a ratio of 5-1. Can't complain about that, as long as you are winning nothing else is of concern.
Good practice also if you make the top three in a tournament.
Just stay aggressive on the button, fold if they are aggressive, hard to lose:D

I finally won a match for 2X after getting rivered quite a bit. The next match was another 2X payout. So I realize I'm paying 1000 for a 2000 payout when the payout should be 3000, and I don't care any more who wins. I'm not playing it anymore if they are going to keep taking chips off the table. It's really annoying, and I think your going to lose money in the long run if you leave your payouts to chance.

someone won $ 1,200? entry of $ 1??? :)))

That person would have won $1000.00, in the $1 games if you are playing for $1200.00, 1st gets $1000.00, 2nd gets $100.00, and 3rd gets $100.00.

I used the free tickets promo thing to have a few shots at these... the $3 ticket was a 2x... and of the five $1 tickets 3 were 2x's... 1 was a 3x... and i my lone biggest jackpot was a 6x

managed to cash in 2 of the 2x $1 tickets though... so if you get the free ticket offer... deffo worth a shot... not sure if i'd invest in those over SnG's tho

Spin & Go

Anyone who plays in pokerstars probably knows what these are. Basically, you play a 3-handed tourney, winner takes all. The prize pool varies though and it's randomly determined. It could be 2x the buy-in, it could be 25x your buy-in.

How are the player pools there? Is it possible to reg these and would that be advisable?

Played this 4 times this morning, $1 buy-in, 1st spin $2pot, 2nd spin $6pot, 3rd spin $4pot and fourth spin $6pot. I only won the last one, but still a profit.

It seems like these games are high variance, but not always high return. It sure sounds fun playing a few games from time to time to fulfill your gambler's needs, but I don't think it's good a good source for BR building

Its like I've said this before. The game has been created by Pokerstars to give the house a bigger edge for them so they can collect more rake.
It's a big rip off.
When you feel the temptation coming on to play the spin & go just take a few deep breaths, concentrate real hard, and repeat this mantra about 50X..."the house always wins, the house always wins, the house always wins..." and so on.

What I don't like about the spin and go format is the small starting pot. It encourages players to go all in. Most people aren't playing poker they're just going for a coin flip. This game has been cleverly designed to make Pokerstars lots of money from the rake.

I have played over 100 spin and go on 1$ stake;
It's true that players are very loose and you can beat them easily when it's the minimum payout of 2$.
When the payout are better 4 or 6$ , player become more and more tight , when it's 10$ prize they are easily exploitable to blind them out.

For the 3$ entry, pool players are better but still you will find some big fish players.

They found a way to make easy profit out of spin and go, because if mostly the prizepool 2 and the sum of the buyins is 3, they make 1 of profit out of the grand majority of the games (wich are A LOT!!), so the biggest winner with this format is pokerstars!

they do not make $1 profit cuz theres only $2 in the pot,
the other dollar goes to the bigger jackpot games,
If you bought for $1 and play for $20 are they losing $17?
no, thats where the extra dollars go
7% rake on small buyins
4% rake on larger buyins
period!

Yeah, pokerstars have been very up front with this information...

furthermore the games are fairly easy to exploit tbh..

i loose many maney in Spin & Go’s

Then play like your playing for $50 instead of $2 or $10. Just won 6 in a row playing sensible, that included a $4 and two $6. These are very easy games to win at low stakes.

Spin & GO

What do you think of this format in PokerStars? What are your impressions of him?
I'd be interested to hear different opinions.

now there's much more variance in spin and go at pokerstars, when including the 3000* price, they deduce this from the small wins, so it was a game of luck, now it 's much more a bingo game than a pokergame.

I havent read all posts, so I dont know if this has been said....

Mostly you stand to win 50% your buy in MINUS RAKE so in a $1 game, you can win only 93 cents on your dollar. Your chances vs 3 players (given that you dont have an advantage, due to structure (Hypo Turbo), unknown player, etc.

But, all in all, not a great deal...........

For a $1 game, the rake might be $0.07, but if the prizepool is $2, you still make a $1 profit.
