I learn to comprehend "gambling" like a bet unconsidering long term profitability.

I don't know where you learned that definition of gambling from. Personally, I have never heard or seen it that way.

As far as I know, gambling is just the activity of placing a bet on an uncertain outcome. It has nothing to do with short or long term profitability.

I think your understanding is that the more astute you become at using a poker strategy, the less you are gambling, and poker becomes more like chess. That, in my opinion, is wishful thinking. Poker is poker, and gambling is part of it, and no matter how much you study you still have to gamble four times each hand you are playing: before the flop, before the turn, before the river, and after the river.

You can make a fortune as a great poker player, but you would still be gambling four times each hand you are playing.

some say that this is a game of mind and gaming skills and good luck, but for me a poker game is a game of chance in which they play for money, today you win the odds and tomorrow you lose, I consider this game to be a gamble!

You ask - is poker a game of chance or not, my answer is yes, it is a game of chance !!! But what games do you think are not gambling ??? In any game there is a winner and a loser in football, hockey and basketball, in any game there is excitement, that is, the desire to win !!! For me, the question is not whether poker is a gamble or not, but whether I can learn to win STABLE !!! I think the answer is obvious - poker is a game of skill !!!

Poker is definitely gambling. You do not have all the information and betting on what you think is the expected outcome.

Would be the same with any other game if you wagered on it. Chess, Checkers, Backgammon, Chutes and Ladders. If you make a wager based on what you perceive the outcome to be, its gambling.

Hi. I think poker is a skill game with a high chance component. If I didn't have random components, I wouldn't be present in the casinos (or is there chess in the casinos?).

Gamblers play any old odds, they gamble.
If poker is played correctly you are always trying to be in a hand when the odds are in your favor.

Since this game is banned in many countries I think that poker refers to gambling entertainment. But this is strictly my personal opinion.

Answering your question, I think of poker as a gambling game and at the same time a sport since not only luck influences but also the knowledge you have of it. But you touched on a very important subject, do you think that there really are those who win at poker only by instinct without having any knowledge of poker books or studying their modalities anyway?

Is poker a gamble?

I think that poker is a very peculiar and amazing game that combines elements of knowledge, psychology (when playing live), and ordinary random luck. That is why this game is very popular and differs from the game, for example, in chess. Where only mental abilities, memory, mathematical calculation, etc. are important. Or from another game where luck is present more than other components. So you need to learn to play and catch luck by the tail !!:icon_joke:icon_joke:icon_joke

It is as soon as money is entered into the picture. That is true in any event where money is place where there is a determination of a winner. If I bet a friend on which one of us could catch a bigger fish, that would also be gambling.

I believe that any game, even a children's one, can become a gamble if the players decide so. So obviously it depends on who is playing. For me, poker is an opportunity to have fun and have a good time.

Poker is a game of chance! It is my firm belief, based on numerous observations over the many years that I play this game. If it was an era of skill and knowledge, tournaments would be won in a row by those who have better studied the theory and all the poker subtleties. Even those who is at the top of the poker Olympus, they often lose in major tournaments than they win. And you will not refuse knowledge and skill!

I think that poker is a 100% gambling game, because you play it for money and in order to win even more money. In my opinion, any money game is gambling.

surely anything you can win and lose money on is classed as gambling, i agree that poker is a game of skill but the fact money is involved would class it as gambling in my eyes

Gambling (also known as betting) is the wagering of money or something of value (referred to as "the stakes") on an event with an uncertain outcome, with the primary intent of winning money or material goods. With this in mind you can decide.
