The Venetian Casino announced it will open a new, larger poker room sometime this summer which will make it one the biggest rooms in Las Vegas when the World Series of Poker isn’t in town.

The current 35 table room opened on the casino floor in 2006 and will stay in operation until the new room, which will be built on the casino’s second floor near the Grand Canal Shoppes, opens.

“The expansion of the poker room is a significant milestone in our ongoing efforts of reimagining the gaming experience at The Venetian Resort,” said Danny Ruiz, chief gaming officer of The Venetian Resort Las Vegas said in a press release. “The room was designed to provide an elevated playing experience and everything from design details to enhancements were made with the players in mind.”

The new poker room will feature 50 tables spread across 14,000 square feet of space. For locals or those who rent cars, the new room will have quick access to The Palazzo’s self-parking garage. Other player amenities will include a self-serve Coca-Cola soda fountain and coffee, online ordering and delivery from casino restaurants, USB and USB-C charging ports at every seat, TVs throughout the venue, and kiosks for both the resort’s loyalty program, Venetian Rewards, and sports betting.

It will also keep it signature roominess in the space while moving forward aesthetically, according to director of poker operations Tommy LaRosa.

“It’s going to be a completely different look and a completely different feel,” LaRosa told the Las Vegas Review Journal. “It’s going to be modern, it’s going to be clean, and it’s just going to be unique. It’s going to be a one-of-a-kind space.”

Private room dedicated to streaming

LaRosa said player feedback was used when designing the new room, and the casino listened when told vlogging and streaming has become a new sort of art-form. Therefore, the room will be the first in Las Vegas to have a dedicated streaming room where players can coordinate vlogging sessions.

It will also be used to stream tournament final tables and cash games. Here’s guessing that a cash-game stream will be broadcast from the new room sometime later this year.

“We’re making an investment in our players and curating the amenities based on their feedback,” said LaRosa. “We can’t wait to unveil the new room this summer and show why the Venetian Poker Room is and continues to provide an unparalleled poker experience.”

The Venetian Poker Room has been one of the most popular cash game and tournament venues in Las Vegas. Home to its Venetian DeepStack events, it also hosts World Poker Tour and has recently become one of the biggest stops on the Mid-Stakes Poker Tour.
