If you subscribe to Poker Central on YouTube, you may have noticed the poker media company has released a plethora of full episodes of its original programming that had been previously available only to paid PokerGo subscribers, for free.
Poker Central first launched as a 24/7 poker network on streaming devices such as Roku in 2015, months after the conclusion of the inaugural Super High Roller Bowl, the company’s first piece of original programming.
In 2017, prior to the start of the World Series of Poker, the poker channel adjusted its business model to an on-demand service with the launch of the PokerGo app, which costs $10 a month for a subscription, comparable to the cost of Netflix, Hulu, and other on-demand video platforms.
Poker Central doesn’t release data on number of subscribers. But, by all accounts, things have gone well since PokerGo launched.
The poker media company has continually added new original programming to its lineup and will have its own studio, PokerGo Studio, in the next few weeks, outside Aria Resort and Casino on the Las Vegas Strip.
Preview PokerGo for Free
Over the past week, Poker Central has released some of its popular, original content on YouTube that was previously only available to those who paid for a PokerGo subscription. Poker Central has over 28,000 YouTube subscribers.
In the past, Poker Central mostly shared short teaser clips of various shows and poker tournaments for free on YouTube. That changed a week ago.
Among the numerous videos recently released include Episode 1 of the 2015 Super High Roller Cash Game which accompanied the inaugural Super High Roller Bowl.
The 41-minute episode, filmed inside the Aria, featured a table full of superstars, with Johnny Chan, Doyle Brunson, Jean-Robert Bellande, Phil Ivey, Antonio Esfandiari, and Bob Bright competing in a high-stakes cash game that had multiple six-figure pots.
Other free episodes released includes “Pokerography,” a biographical series chronicling the lives of various poker players such as Chris Moneymaker, Phil Hellmuth, and Johnny Chan.
Win a WSOP Main Event Seat
Poker Central hasn’t released its entire arsenal of videos on YouTube. Paying for a subscription to PokerGo still has its benefits, one of which is a chance to win a 2018 WSOP Main Event seat.
Current and new subscribers can enter into a drawing to win a $10,000 Main Event seat and $1,500 extra for travel expenses. If you aren’t sure if PokerGo is for you, they offer a 30-day free trial to test it out before buying, and free trial members are eligible for the WSOP drawing.
