The Orleans revealed the schedule for its 2021 Fall Poker Series last week, joining the autumn chorus of poker tournaments that will run concurrently with the World Series of Poker.

That series will run from Oct. 1-Nov. 5, offering more than 50 events in a variety of poker disciplines. Of course, No-Limit Hold’em will dominate the schedule, but the Orleans plans to sprinkle in HORSE, Omaha Hi-Lo, and an eight-game mix event for the mixed-game players. In all, the festival will guarantee $2.5 million in prize pools.

The 2021 Fall Poker Series’ main event will be a $1,000 No-Limit Hold’em affair with three starting days and a guarantee of $750,000, beginning Oct. 28.

The Orleans ran its 2021 Summer Poker Series with a similar slate of tournaments from June 11 to July 22, also offering $2.5 million in guarantees.

The response to the announcement on Twitter was mixed, with some happy about the schedule and others complaining about the lack of pot-limit events. As one tweeter noted, math is hard:

This likely represents the last of the fall poker tournament festival announcements. The Venetian, Wynn, and Golden Nugget have already revealed their schedules, while Planet Hollywood and Binion’s – which usually host events alongside the WSOP in the summer – have shuttered their poker rooms.

So far, only the WSOP has announced vaccination requirements for players (but not for dealers, which would likely violate union contracts). Tweets in reply to The Orleans’ fall tournament announcements asking about vaccination requirements were met with silence.
