August Poker Tourneys are Heating Up Across the US

There’s no breather for those players who spent a good part of their summer playing at the World Series of Poker. Simply put, there are plenty of tournament poker opportunities across the country in August.

Here are a few that stand out.

Starting today is the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open (SHRPO), a 45-event series that runs until Aug. 9. Taking place at the Seminole Hard Rock in Hollywood, Florida, most of the events are in the $400 to $600 buy-in range.

And because events at Seminole Hard Rock always attract big fields, the casino is able to offer big guarantees. For example, today’s starting event, a $400 Deepstack with seven starting flights, has a $1 million guarantee with more than 640 entries already collected.

The series is capped by several high-roller events, including a $25K high-roller PLO event Sunday, Aug. 3, a $50K super high-roller event on Monday, Aug. 4, and the $5,300, $3 million guaranteed championship event on Tuesday, Aug. 5.

This SHRPO also offers many different forms of the game, like today’s $400 Big O event, tomorrow’s $600 Omaha 8-or-Better event, and next week’s $1,100 HORSE event (Aug. 4).
