Twitch Recommendations

As someone who spends a great deal of time on Twitch, I have come across some pretty interesting poker streamers. Obviously, the biggest ones are Jason Somerville and Jaime Staples, but there are a number of other streams who you may have never heard of. I’ll recommend a few to get you started and link you to some videos that show why I like them.

Jonathan Little

Two time WPT Champ Jonathan Little studying poker with ICMizer.

I’m sure most of us have heard of Jonathan Little, but did you know he does a stream on Twitch? He is well known for his poker training materials, so this is an excellent opportunity to learn from him for free. He frequently does study sessions where he analyzes his own game using the program Flopzilla. He also uses the program ICMizer to practice shoving and calling spots.

If you subscribe to his channel, you can see one such session by clicking here. I have learned a lot by watching him try to improve his game in these sessions. If you want a more personal studying experience, you can test your skills against him in one of the many Poker Stars home games that he runs. You can participate in these even if you are in the United States. If he notices leaks in your game, he will identify them, tag you accordingly, and make the proper adjustment against you. Seeing this in action can be scary, but becoming aware of how he beats you should help you to improve.

Adrian Fenixx

Adrian Fenixx wielding a really big glowing sword.

Adrian Fenixx is a guy who found my stream and came in to hang out on a few occasions. This led me to check out his stream and I was blown away by what I saw. Not only is this guy one of the most entertaining humans I have ever met, he is also a certified cash game boss. You can frequently find him grinding the NL cash tables on Bovada while wielding a very large sword. No joke.

In addition to playing, Adrian holds study sessions in which he reviews viewer submitted hand histories, as well as his own. I probably learned the most when I watched him work with the program Piosolver. If you subscribe to his channel, you can see that session by clicking here. Even if you are less interested in studying and just want to watch a funny streamer play cash games, Adrian is your guy.

The big dog is finally back on Twitch with new digs, ya dig?

Speaking of entertaining human beings, TPE pro-Casey “bigdogpckt5s” Jarzebek has to be pretty high up on the list of entertaining people I’ve met in poker. This guy is a riot, especially once he starts drinking the Moosehead, his adult beverage of choice. After a brief hiatus from Twitch, which stemmed from him accidentally leaving his stream live and broadcasting some distinctly non-poker adult content, he is finally back. This time, he has a new house, a new kid, and a second chance on Twitch, which may explain why he seems to have calmed down a bit. But don’t worry, once the Moosehead starts to flow, I’m sure the big dog will be loose once again.

Kevin Martin

Kevin Martin holds it down for the Stream House when Jaime is away.

If you’re familiar with Jaime Staples, then maybe you know his roommate Kevin Martin as well. Or maybe you are a fan of the TV show Big Brother that he was a contestant on. Either way, if you don’t know him, you should. He is an up and coming small stakes grinder with a large Twitch following. If you are a small stakes player like me, you know that there is nothing more exciting than taking a shot at a bigger game and having it go your way. This is exactly what happened to Kevin Martin when he final tabled the Big 162 on Poker Stars back in December. You can watch his run by clicking here. The final table starts at around the 7:15:00 mark.
