Please don't tell me you embrace it when it goes against you - or your friends :)
I rarely play MTTs. And if I lose it's like whatever; even Phil Ivey is not gonna cash in a large field tournament the majority of the time.

I am sure no-one will argue with that.

But after you play for 5 hours or 4 or something like that - you go through the emotional ups and downs - at that very moment it is very cruel - it feels very cruel.

You certainly will rationalize it - put it in proper perspective and file it away - with no lasting emotional repercussions.
But - if you have NO emotional reaction to winning or losing - I don't know - to me poker is one of the things that provides those adrenaline rushes... part of the addictiveness/enjoyment...

Well I mean it is frustrating to lose after hours of playing, but I do my level best not to let it get to me, and part of that is just not playing large-field MTTs at all. :p Because I HAAAAAATE spending all that time playing my A-game just to lose and statistically that's what happens in an MTT damn near all of the time.

So overall, I don't think I've played more than like 5 MTTs with more than 200 people in them in my lifetime.

Manged to misclick half my stack away into a free gift and also blow it on a couple of bad calls. Weeee busto city. Did run quite well and played decent beside those few mishaps, but they turned out to be too costly. Lesson learned.

Thanks for the rail!

And GL to anyone still in!

played 37 events just the Holdem and some Pot Limit Omaha. had football on Saturday though so missed the chance to make the top 50 which was my aim. because there was like 5 events that day which i thought i could get a good points haul from for the mm leaderboard. had a ridiculously high itm of 35% haha. not a ft though :(
came 60 out of 10,000 odd in a $8.80 and another similar score where i lost a 95% hand on the river. main even didn't go great some fish raised 3x in lp i had A Qo in bb was gonna 3 bet but knew he had a good hand so not much point v a fish oop. flop A xx he bets i re raise ( only because he's a fish and wasn't too worried v AK, v a half decent player i would never raise.) he calls. turn's another low card- 6. i bet and at this point am pot comitted. he re raises and i put the last of my stack in the middle. he had pocket 6's hahaha. lost 1/3 of my stack earlier on with KK v AQ v a ss shove. so didn't run great in this. got a decent finish in Sunday Storm 800 odd.
was a pretty good series next one i am gonna try win the leaderboard. by starting earlier and not missing vital days. came 119 this year without one ft so could be done.

I'd guess it's cuz you have all that experience.

Breaking up in relationships doesn't bother me much. Did I mention I've only been in one?

Did I forget mention I purposefully avoid large-field MTTs because the variance ****ing sucks?

I mean, I dunno why people let themselves get tilted by that shit. MTTs suck. If you can't deal with that DON'T PLAY THEM. It's retarded.
