Are Pokerstars no longer as generous as they used to be

I do not think generosity is part of the business model for many poker sites.
This is all about making money. If they were doing something before and it was not profitable (and did not draw new visitors to the site) then why would they?
But in any case, there are always lots of freerolls around. Fenomeno, WCOOP, Daily Kickoff, Bounty Builders, Cards Chat, regional satties, etc.

I'm going to toot my own horn here, because I finally got into a decent cash last night with the WCOOP Main Event (LOW)...and cashed for $991.50.
The investment for me was $0.22. I played a WCOOP freeroll. Reboought for 11 cents and paid 11cents for the add-on. Won a $109 ticket (October 25th).
Sunday played the WCOOP and made it through to day 2. Last night, finished 346th..just shy of $1000.

The point, apart from me just getting a chance to brag, is that was nearly $1000 won on poker stars for almost no investment at all. Wouldn't you say that was generous?

I do miss the Wekend UK-only tourneys Cards Chat used to put on in conjunction with poker stars...that was a good little bankroller...and very generous, I suppose. But indeed it is gone...to brazil and germany. I guess there is more potential for growth there.

But you don't have to restrict yourself to playing poker stars. Get an account on each of the other sites. Look for their new member deposit bonuses (but read the T's & C's as you usually have to stake that amount before you can withdraw it.

But across all the sites, there are plenty of opportunities for cheap chances at real money.

All the best,
JT

There are less cash freerolls at the moment because pokerstars are having the 20 million guaranteed tourneys at the start of this month, they are giving away a lot of free tickets for these,

Your response confirms the correctness of what you have posted, I hope you are a follower or informant of the Pokerstars administration.
No I am just someone, who have played there since 2016.
If the cost of participating in the MTT becomes at least $0.25, and you no longer organize tournaments where the winner is winning for cash, this means that the PS management no longer cares about giving some opportunities to beginners and others to practice and learn this beloved game and elevate themselves from a lower level to a better level.
If $0,25 is to much for you to spend, then I recommend going to the playmoney tables. This is, how I learned to play poker back in the day (on Zynga Poker Facebook App).

Hello everyone :)
Why is Pokerstars no longer offering free tournaments where players win cash as before?
Yes, I do not deny that Pokerstars offers valuable free satellites, but the truth is that we qualify for paid buy-in & rebuy tournaments, and unfortunately we may encounter players who do not care about money and do not stop rebuy, and here it is difficult to qualify for the next tournament, which may also be a satellite .
And the other thing is that the cost of participating in the cheapest sit&go has become no less than 0,25$, unfortunately PS did not leave the room for beginners to enjoy this game and practice and learn it as it was before. Yes, where are the free EPT, Bankrollmob, and PokerSchool Openskill tournaments, etc. Where are the sit&go $0,02 and $0,10 and $0,27 buy-in tournaments.
Many of these tournaments motivate us and make us happy to play more and give us the opportunity to practice more and participate in several paid sit&go and tournaments.
Do you agree with me or what do you think?
My friend, I also regret the loss of 0.02$ and 0.10 S&G, because sometimes it was good to play on them as well.
Of course, these Rebuy freerolls have economic reasons, but they are also unacceptable to me, because if you manage to survive the rebuy period, you simply have to addon because it means 50,000 chips.
For example, I used to really like the "Weekly Freeroll Round 1" games because they had HORSE, 2-7 TDs, ...etc., and in those tournaments it was easy to get into the "Round 2" weekend final day...

The reason for me to still support Pokerstars is the Cardschat community. There are so many other choices out there and Pokerstars promotions not really the greatest these days. But I log in every day thanks to Cardschat and then I play real money tournaments and give Pokerstars something back.
If suddenly Cardschat should disappear from Stars, I would probably stop playing there.

I do not see a problem, Kozhin poker room implements its policy, its bonuses for players, distributes buns (bonuses) at its discretion, if someone lacks it, can change the room to 888, for example, there are many free tournaments

As for the CC and CO tournaments and everything that PokerStas offers at the moment, I am always grateful, as I said in the above post.
And I get this part, and agree with your enthusiasm around it.

What confused me is that I could not decide whether you wanna have fun at the poker tables, learning at the poker tables or profiting at the poker tables, or doing these 3 at the same time. Cause with those tournaments that you keep mention, you will not learn not taking a profit from to actually move higher buy-ins ever.
I offered you a view where you could have with the cheapest Sit and goes 60 buy-ins. You could not broke with them immediately. Also if you are playing CC freerolls you can hit monthly at least two figures scores, so that's even more buy-ins for you, free.
The 0.02$ ones were pointless because of several reasons, and when you mention 0.27$ buy-ins, they cost even more than the actual existing cheapest ones. Once again, you looking this from a bad point of view, cause you are in the situation - but once you're gonna have a perspective when you can see it from outside, and reading all of your and other comments here again and again, you will see that there were other paths for you waiting to be try, and you can find the most fun, meaningful or profitable for you.

Good luck! :)

They seem very generous in giving out free sports bets. I get over 100 dollars in free sports bets every month by completing the challenges

I am not entirely different with you.
My question was clear, since PS no longer offers tournaments with cash prizes like before, because it replaced most of them with Hyper Turbo satellites because it's hard to win them unless you have chance.
I have been playing on ps since 2009 because it used to have many tournaments with daily cash wins and satellites as well, and through these tournaments we can win money, where we have the right to choose what we want to play among tournaments or S&G and the price of the buy-in according to the level of our mastery of poker strategies and skills and what we have on the bankroll.
With all due respect and love to the Pokerstars room, for me, I think that what PS was offering from freeroll in the past was much better, and also a very good opportunity for everyone compared to what they offer at the moment.

Pokerstars is most definitely not as generous in terms of their promotions as they were lets say 5 years back, the poker market has changed, more value on other sites in terms of bonuses and promotions and the emergence of GG is a serious pull for new players now.
PS still offers some great value in certain satellite tourneys but long gone are the days when $T were possible to exchange up! Oh how i miss that value!

I used to like the 10 cents ones, cause I like tournaments. But you can still play for 25 cent ones. I like the $1.10 Horse and 8 game too.
There is also $1.10 KO, these are fun because every time you eliminate a player, you get 25 cents. After 5 elimination you are already up 15 cents.
Just cause I like tournament poker. As a micro player I understand you.
Good luck my friend.

Good luck to you too my friend👍
Since we love poker, we always try to learn and gain experience at the lowest possible cost, and that's what I'm trying to convey as an idea on the forum.

Some threads (definitely not all) are still relevant even if they are 2 years old. :)
Yes but the post is still spam and has nothing really to do with the thread. The OP was about declining of public freerolls abd super micro tournaments on pokerstars.

Replay is basically a play money site and will never replace pokerstars and what was offered there in the past to the general public.
