Inspired by pokerstars decision to increase its rake for STT SnGs I thought, I might give partypoker a chance. However I was literally late to the party, because when I tried to open the client, I got the message, that PartyPoker is leaving sweden. Last day to deposit will be 2. april 2024, and last day to use your balance will be 8. april 2024. So another country, where PartyPoker will no longer operate, which I am sure will help them grow their business (not). And one less option for people living in Sweden, who like to play STT SnGs :(

Svenska Spel is the government owned gambling company, they are not the regulator. Svenska Spel used to have a monopoly position, but the swedish market for gambling was liberalised years ago, and this decision has not been reversed. So its entirely PartyPokers own decision to leave, just as they have left a large number of other markets in recent years. The company is reportedly also for sale, so unless they find a buyer / investor, maybe they will close completely?

I don't know why PP is leaving so many countries, that's a bad signal. I hope they don't close.

GG's dominance is really staring to negatively affect online poker I think....its a borderline monopoly now in terms of market share

The way party poker leaves market after market they should just leave the whole world, put their servers on the moon 🌕 and offer poker only to extraterrestrials 👽👽👽

Im sure in Outerspace they would be finally free from any wrongdoing regarding regulations 💯

I can't understand their policy at all. A few years ago they decided to become a market leader, signed famous ambassadors, invested a lot of money in promotion, and when they entered the top five, they suddenly began to leave one country after another, and their traffic began to fall rapidly. Very strange decisions.

Its sad for the swedish players. In general here in germany the same. The regulation is hard, only 4 tables, deposit limits etc. The unregulated time is over and i think it would never come back. Thats sad i think so. Poker is for many unknew people a gamble but i think its sport. If you play with rules and learning alot for the game.

PartyPoker had a swedish license and operated here completely legally. So their decision to leave has nothing to do with regulations. On the countrary they have said, they dont want to operate in grey markets, and used that as an explanation for leaving many other countries. But now they are apparently also leaving regulated markets.
