when you are that big and a listed company, you will naturally serve less gray markets

I'm actually kinda surprised we're not on that list. Our online gaming legislation would almost certainly qualify us as a "grey market" at best...

I guess you and Canadian are protected by (in comparison) large and wealthy population. Also cheaper for Stars to provide material etc. since English.

Wow, how transparent can pokerstars be? XD Doubt there will truly be THAT much backlash, but still. For those it does affect, it's a pretty blatent "neener neener". Brazen of them.

I thought it was a list of countries I would never want to visit.

It happened like that in Spain. I played one night and the next night - unable to play. Same on several other sites. But the Spanish Government had obviously had a hand in that - they immediately invited sites to apply for a licence, and of course some did, including PS. The countries can then keep an eye on the tax the sites have to pay, because all of the action (or virtually all) takes place in their country.

Previously it was worldwide and difficult (impossible?) to say how much revenue was generated from each country.

out of those 31 countries I would have serious doubts that there are more than 500 regestered players affected

This seems like a preventative for laundering and PS was probably persuaded into this action.

Yeah right.....with the close to zero volume I play I've met several players from, for example Turkey and Iran.....This involves thousands of players.....
