Why Do You Play Poker?

I love poker because is a strategy game . Besides, it's fun and I love meetingother people around the world; even though most of them swear you because you beat them.

It has to be the thinking process while playing poker, it really excites me to think through a hand, look and try to read other people, try and think what they have, try and read their physical tells.

All of the above. I used to play just to make money, but it just started getting to stressful to the point i didn't wanna play anymore. I play poker right now more for a hobby and a little extra cash is always nice.

A and C , After seeing it on ESPN back in 2003 and 2004 , have been in love with the game ever since . It can be a love hate relationship , and even though the luster has wore off , I still enjoy playing it pretty much everyday . If I take a few days off , I always miss it quite a bit and am extremely excited to get back to the tables when I do . I also enjoy winning the $$$$$$$

Why do I play poker.... HMMMM good question.... I play online poker because I have way too much free time on my hands an just sitting there watching TV doesn't do it for me, I need to keep my brain active. ( weather good or bad ) I find I throw away more money away online but I only play small stakes. Now I also play Live tourney at our local casino a couple times a year an well thats for real money an I just simply love the competitive atmosphere. I always played competitive sports until i got hurt so this is about the only way left i can flex my competitive muscles.

I like the social environment. Also just the excitement it brings especially when stakes are higher. Money is nice for sure but can't win em all. I just like the thinking process that goes into it. So much to analyze. Testing your patience and intelligence. And overall perception of whats going on in the game.

I play poker for the sport and fun but ultimately I'm playing for the money. I can't play poker for free, it just doesn't do anything for me. Although, like times like now, I feel like just quitting. I hop from site to site, but I've been on playing carbon since December and I still have not one a tournament yet!! So discouraging.

I play poker because there is strategy involved. I am a chess expert and I highly enjoy any competitive game.

I play because poker challenges my mind. Some folks like puzzles, other crosswords. I enjoy the odds, the strategy, and the thrill of winning (or losing!) and adding to my bankroll!

I don't find online poker to be social, but live games are terrific. I really enjoy getting to know the players, where they're from, and what their lives are like.
