I prefer tourney 9 or 6 players per table. I'm convinced that there are more money to win than cash (for example for final table). Otherwise I don't lose all bankroll in one tournament, it is much safer for me and bankroll.

Dont bother with tourneys unless you want to play like a donk.

I prefer tourneys because it's more fun and if you play well you can win a lot of money but I like cash games too.

Figure would add a 2c to the thread, I personally just love to play poker (any and all kinds, doesn't really matter could be holdem, omaha, razz and willing to learn just about any game). Have never been a big fan of the FL style games originally but again it was always a patience thing, I have lots of patience but always seemed to tilt easily and just feel like the FL games were taking forever (especially in a tourny when used to the NL where the field would tend to thin rather quickly).

I enjoy tournament play when I have lots of time on my hands and feel I am able to focus for a long session, as some tournaments especially deep player entries can take hours and hours to finish (which is what you want to invest because of course we all want to win 1st place) but at the same time the whole bubble aspect of a tournament can sometimes get you down having played for hours to make nothing. The same can be said for cash games as well however, have played many times for hours and simply break even or worse.

Each is its own style for sure, and very dependent on the amount of time you can put into a session. As indicated tournaments take hours, so if only have a couple of hours to play would be of benefit to play cash or perhaps the 9man sng's (which is the area I have been trying to focus myself on as of lately).

Also, not sure if I mentioned it but I love to play poker :D. Sometimes although not recommended i also mix the two cash and tourny, as the cash can help with getting bored in a tourny and just donking off the chips or to be more specific chasing draws. As for myself right now, trying to say away from the cash tables however in a case on BCP where trying to build a bankroll from nothing am forced to play some 1c/2c cash at the moment (having won 1$ in a freeroll tourny). Their lowest sng is 1.5 and even with such a small br I'm trying to be good on the brm so a 40c bi in a cash game I feel is my best changes on building and hopefully not going broke (throwing in freerolls when they are running).

Everything for such a topic of cash or tourny is all in eaches opinion and we all have our reasons to playing what we do, either only that or each in different situations.

I'm only used to playing tourneys, that's the strategy I have been working on. I have played some cash games, but I prefer playing a tournament for a few hours and I love it even more if I take it down :D

I prefer tournaments because you have the chance for bigger money prize and you most possibilities because you can play with strategy than in a cash game that you can loose your money in one hand that you think you have the same in a tournaments but there you can hold than in cash game you can drifting easily to a fault, also in tournments you will loose a small piece of your money.

SNG's and tournaments are my preference. The key reason, bankroll swings. Losing with AA/KK in a tournament/sng sucks, but at least it's not going to crush you bankroll wise in a single hand.

Yea I also play SNG, I actually quite like these.

I just joined 888 poker yesterday and today I used a $1 ticket for a 6max sng. I got to heads up but lost it QQ against KJ he got KJ on the board and nothing hit for me, oh well at least I got paid :)

I prefer MTT because they are, IMHO, far more challenging than cash. I like this because you find yourself on the edge of oblivion more often than in a cash game; one wrong play could kill you then or make it hard going forward. It's just me, but if poker was like Mario Brothers, Cash would be like playing the same level over and over, MTT would be more like playing the entire game to the finish.

Ah, just let me say I can already hear the disagreements flooding in, so remember, please, that is just my opinion. I am not slamming cash at all, so no one get your panties in a twist, ok? Matter of fact, I think if you want a steady income from poker, you would be far and away better with cash game play, if you got the chops for it.

I like tournaments more and I think they are easier to play because there are more new players in them. I do not have good results on cash tables but I am trying to learn.

I love tourneys. I prefer them because you have a set amount of chips and you know how much you have to risk and lose before you get into it-

With Cash games, although you can play more deep stacked and arguably play a more skilled strategy, I actually like the strategies involved in tournament play more than the cash games.
Not to mention that in cash games I can basically have an endless amount of rebuys therefore I feel the consequences for losing are not as harsh as a tournament- since in a tourney if you lose thats it--

I prefer tournaments because you better control your bankroll, if you take a bad beat the damage is lower, you can concentrate better at the game than the money itself, is what i think.

If you like to play multi tables - then tournys are great - if I get ahead on one table I can sit out and focus on another table , and unlike a cash table - if you sit out too long, you don't get kicked off, man that was a surprise when I was at a cash table - had to go tend to my supper in the oven and came back to find I was booted off LOL

After i experienced being cheated ( collusion ) in a $ 1 - $ 2 no limit live cash game , i switched to live tournament , if i have time to play (meaning i have at least 12 hours free time ) i will play live tournament .

Last June 8,2013 i won my first tournament, i knew i'm not going to win every tournament that i will play but i'm happy playing live tournament because its very very hard for collusion to exist because players are being moved from one table to another.

I prefer tournament poker to cash game. It seems like my style is more suited for tournament play. For some reason I have never been very good at cash but can hold my own in tournaments. I am in the process of building my bankroll and plan on playing more cash when I get to that point.
