Can you be looser on BRM with Double or Nothings rather than Standard SNG since it feels like there is less variance in DON?

Here is the difference.

In one you want to stab yourself in the ankle and the other is cash games.

its interesting you say people go 10-15 tournaments without cashing, i generally play cash but people who finish at the top of a decent tournament get paid off very well.
10-15? More like 40-50 is not unusual.
In lower buyins (micros) players will be cashing (ITM) much more regularly, but as you move up in buyins it is often fewer & farther between (top winning MTT players in HSMTT typically have ITM 9-11%, in micros you'll see 30% fairly often).

I personally enjoy playing cash games. I like the fact that you can sit down and get up whenever you want. Sometimes I get bored playing tourneys, but I still play them occasionally. You just gotta figure out which format you like the best and go with it.

Personal preference is obviously important here. I find I have a lot of patience and am quite good at cashing in MTTs (albeit rarely getting anywhere near a final table). But I find doing that far more enjoyable than being on the receiving end of some real donkey plays in the cash games. Maybe it's because my BR will only let me play micro-stakes but every time I try to play cash I end up getting cheesed off in a way that doesn't happen in the MTTs. Wondering whether to start playing cash when I'm able to play at a buy in level that is out of the reach for some of the donks you find at the micro-stakes. I might be wrong but I'm assuming that $1/$2 is a totally different experience to playing $0.05/$0.10.

I am more of a tournament player, but on occasion I will sit at a cash game it usually depends on how much time I have, as far as profits go I am far more profitable with the tournaments. My cash game needs some work.

Tournaments. I have strict BRM though, at least 100 buy-ins per tournament (1% of BR), so the variance is not as big a loss for me.

Also I play turbos as I feel my push/fold strategy is best.

In Cash Games I feel like it's much too easy to lose a ton of money in a short amount of time.

I think being able to see the trends of individual players in cash games gives a bigger advantage to a conservative player, whereas tourneys make it more difficult to get a good bead on individual players. That said, right now I play more tourneys because I lack the time or funds to get involved in cash games.

with mtts u have much more control over bankroll and i personally find them more exciting due to stack management and at least with the fish once u knock them out they are out not bouncing back with re stakes

This ^^ would actually be a comment for Cash Games. Fish can keep re-buying and you can keep taking their money. In tournaments, you can only take their money once.
